From rural districts to major urban centres, several cases emerged involving allegations of coercion, assault, fraud, religious conversion, targeted violence, and disputes linked to religious identity and social interactions. Parallelly, reports from international locations and academic spaces highlighted growing debates around cultural identity, migration, demographic change, and ideological contestations. Law enforcement agencies initiated action in some cases, while others remained under investigation or at the complaint stage.
The incidents documented over the course of the year point to a broader and increasingly visible pattern of tensions surrounding faith, identity, and community relations. They also underscore what many Hindu organisations and community leaders describe as a persistent underreporting of challenges faced by Hindu communities in certain regions and contexts.
In this environment, the onus lies on Organiser not merely to report individual incidents but to systematically document, investigate, and highlight instances of anti-Hindu violence, discrimination, cultural erasure, and targeted hostility that often escape sustained national and international attention. Through consistent reporting, the publication seeks to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of issues affecting Hindu society while ensuring that concerns related to civil rights, religious freedom, and social harmony remain part of the public discourse.
The detailed incidents from April 6, 2026, to April 12, 2026, are given below.

6. Anti-Hindu Indian Academic in Dublin Faces Backlash Over Remarks on Hindu Vegetarianism
An Indian academic based in County Dublin faced criticism after making remarks at a public discussion linking pure vegetarian Indian restaurants with caste identity and discrimination.
Arpita Chakraborty, a postdoctoral fellow associated with the Ireland India Institute and an alumna of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, made the comments during a discussion hosted by The Deep Table. She stated that pure vegetarian Indian restaurants in Dublin functioned as coded expressions of upper-caste Hindu identity and alleged that such establishments were introducing caste-based practices into Irish society under the influence of the Western vegan movement.
She further claimed that Indian migrant community networks operating through platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp were replicating caste structures in Ireland.
The remarks were widely circulated on social media and triggered criticism from several commentators and members of the Hindu community, who argued that the statements misrepresented the religious and cultural foundations of Hindu vegetarianism. Critics stated that vegetarian practices rooted in the principle of ahimsa predate modern vegan movements and are followed across multiple Indian communities as part of longstanding spiritual traditions.
A social media post by the account Gems of Indian Academia criticised the remarks and expressed concern that such statements could contribute to prejudice against Indians and Hindus in Ireland. Another Irish commentator also cited the remarks while discussing caste-related concerns linked to Indian migration, further amplifying the controversy.

Complaint Filed Against Congress President Over Remarks on Hindus and Hindu Organisation During Assam Rally

The controversy arose after a video of the speech delivered at Nilambazar in Assam circulated widely on social media. In the speech, Kharge referred to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party as a “zehreela saanp” while citing references to namaz and the Quran. In the viral clip, he stated that if such a “poisonous snake” was not killed, survival would not be possible.
Following the circulation of the video, Advocate Amita Sachdeva submitted a complaint seeking registration of an FIR and legal action against the Congress president. 8. Hindu religious symbol ‘Vel’ publicly disrespected during election event in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu
In Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, the sacred Hindu symbol ‘Vel’, associated with Lord Murugan, was publicly disrespected during an election campaign event attended by Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. During the public meeting held in the palace area of Ramanathapuram, party functionaries came on stage to present gifts after the conclusion of the speech. One functionary presented a Vel, which was briefly received and immediately returned, while shortly afterwards a Buddha statue presented by another functionary was accepted and retained. The contrasting treatment of the two religious symbols drew visible reactions and surprise from attendees present at the venue.
The incident triggered criticism from members of the Hindu community, particularly because the Vel holds deep spiritual and cultural importance in Tamil Hindu tradition and is revered as the divine spear of Lord Murugan. The public rejection of the symbol, especially when contrasted with the acceptance of another religious representation moments later, was viewed by many as an act of disrespect towards Hindu religious identity and beliefs.
The controversy also resurfaced earlier instances involving leaders associated with the DMK and allied Dravidian political circles who had faced criticism over remarks or conduct concerning Hindu symbols, customs, scriptures, and practices. Previous incidents included statements calling for the “eradication” of Sanatan Dharma, remarks against visible Hindu religious symbols, criticism of Hindu scriptures, and incidents involving perceived disrespect towards Hindu rituals and traditions.

The accused created a fake identity under the name Nishant Saharan and projected himself as a Major in the Indian Army on the matrimonial platform Shaadi.com.
To gain the trust of women, the accused reportedly used fabricated credentials, including forged identity documents, photographs in military uniform, and false claims about land ownership and financial status. Through this fabricated persona, he contacted Hindu women seeking marriage alliances and developed relationships while concealing his real identity and religious background.

Police recovered an army uniform from his possession, indicating the extent of the impersonation used in the deception.
Subsequent investigation by Hisar police revealed that the accused had allegedly deceived more than ten Hindu women using the same fabricated identity and false promises of marriage. In one reported instance, he allegedly extracted Rs 30,000 from a Hindu woman through emotional manipulation connected to the promise of marriage.

The two came into contact during the woman’s regular bus travel and later began communicating through phone calls and social media.
As the relationship progressed, the accused allegedly took the woman to different hotels in Ahmedabad and established physical relations with her while assuring her of marriage. Police said the accused used an Aadhaar card bearing the name “Mohit Patel” during hotel stays.

The question, included under the language and culture section, stated, “There is no one other than Allah,” and asked students to choose the correct answer from options including Someshwar, Khuda, Shaktivan, and “the one who punishes.” The matter drew attention after students raised objections to the question, following which images of the paper circulated widely on social media.
The incident triggered protests in Ujjain and Ratlam, where several Hindu organisations demanded action against those responsible for setting the question paper. Objections were also raised regarding the inclusion of religion-specific assertions in a university examination and concerns over academic neutrality.
Following the backlash, the university administration initiated an inquiry and referred the matter to the Examination Committee for review. Registrar Anil Kumar Sharma stated that subject experts would examine whether the question aligned with the prescribed syllabus and academic standards.
The university also began reviewing the process through which the paper was prepared and moderated. The Vice-Chancellor sought an explanation from the Controller of Examinations, while internal meetings were held to assess the lapse and determine further action.

The discussion centred around immigration, H1-B visas, and demographic changes in Texas. During the conversation, Stein mocked Hindu beliefs and practices by making remarks about cow worship and falsely claiming that Hindus drink cow urine and eat cow dung. He then asked Webbon whether Hinduism was among the “most demonic religions” and compared it to Scientology.
Responding to the remarks, Webbon described Hinduism as “insanely demonic,” “satanic,” and “very pagan,” while also claiming that it was incompatible with “Western cultural values.” He further contrasted Hinduism with Islam during the discussion, stating that both religions “send you to hell,” but described Hinduism as “terribly pagan.”

The councillor further criticised both the BJP and her own party leadership during her interaction with the media. She stated that Muslims face discrimination in business activities and remarked that the Congress party treated Muslims merely as a vote bank. She also said that if expelled from the party, she could contest independently or join the party led by Asaduddin Owaisi.

27. Hindu nursing student secretly recorded in explicit videos by Muslim man in Koppal, Karnataka
In Koppal district, Karnataka, a Hindu nursing student from Kushtagi taluk was deceived, sexually exploited and secretly recorded in explicit videos by a Muslim man identified as Mustafa (also reported as Mustafa Khadri), a resident of Kampli village. The woman, an adult Hindu pursuing her nursing studies in Koppal, entered into a relationship with Mustafa, during which he gained her trust and continued to meet her in the city. According to complaints filed by local Hindu organisations and police statements, the accused engaged in sexual acts with the student and recorded those encounters on his mobile phone without her knowledge.
The exploitation came to light when Mustafa was seen with the nursing student in Koppal city and local Hindu youths, suspicious of the relationship, stopped and questioned him. During this encounter, they reportedly checked his mobile phone and discovered multiple explicit videos showing him with several Hindu women, including the nursing student. Public‑facing allegations indicate that two phones recovered from Mustafa contained thousands of photos and videos, allegedly involving around 16 different girls, many of whom are described as from rural, poor backgrounds. Members of Hindu organisations, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), approached the Superintendent of Police and submitted a complaint seeking action against Mustafa for sexual exploitation, privacy violation and circulating obscene material. Police have since taken him into custody, registered a case and are examining the devices as part of the ongoing investigation.
The victim in this case is recorded as a single adult Hindu woman, belonging to the general category; her caste and exact name have not been disclosed in public reports, and authorities have treated her as a protected adult survivor rather than a minor. The case status is listed as “complaint filed,” with proceedings at the investigative stage and no indication yet of concluded charges or trial. The sole perpetrator named in the documentation is Mustafa, a Muslim man from Kampli, who is alleged to have systematically targeted the nursing student, used her in sexual encounters, secretly recorded her and then amassed similar material involving other Hindu women, which has led some groups to label the pattern as part of broader “love jihad”‑style exploitation.

At a Tech Mahindra BPO unit in Goregaon, Mumbai, allegations emerged in April 2026 regarding religious discrimination and workplace bias affecting Hindu employees. The matter came to light through social media discussions, where concerns were raised about hiring practices, workplace culture, and alleged pressure on Hindu women employees.
According to the claims shared online, a Hindu employee alleged that religious imbalance in staffing had developed within her work process, which she attributed to recruitment decisions influenced by a Muslim HR officer. She further alleged that this shift contributed to a workplace environment where Muslim employees formed a significant majority in certain teams.
The complainant also raised concerns regarding workplace practices and cultural expressions within the office, stating that Islamic religious observances were visibly accommodated. At the same time, she alleged that Hindu employees, particularly women, felt socially pressured and uncomfortable in certain interpersonal dynamics within the workplace, including claims of inappropriate pressure in personal relationships involving colleagues.
Following these allegations, screenshots and messages shared on social media circulated widely after being posted by advocate Ashutosh Dubey, who stated that he had received complaints from employees regarding workplace conditions and religious bias. He also shared another message from a different employee at a separate office location, which referred to designated areas being used for religious observances during Ramzan.
In response, Tech Mahindra issued a statement rejecting the allegations, saying that internal review found no evidence supporting claims of religious bias or discriminatory practices. The company clarified that the images and posts circulating on social media were not from its offices and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an inclusive workplace free from discrimination.

The matter had earlier drawn attention after multiple FIRs were filed based on complaints by Hindu women employees, with several individuals from the company named and arrested in connection with the allegations.
As the case gained visibility, parts of the public discourse shifted toward the interpretation of the allegations and the identity of the accused. Several journalists and commentators highlighted concerns about communal framing and argued that the accused employees were being targeted due to their religious identity. These responses circulated widely on social media, where they generated contrasting views on how the case should be understood.
Some commentators questioned the narrative around the allegations and suggested that the response risked being shaped by communal bias. Others emphasized the need to view the matter strictly within the framework of workplace conduct and ongoing investigations, without drawing broader religious conclusions.
The debate also extended to discussions on media coverage, with some critics alleging selective framing and others arguing that certain narratives were overshadowing the original complaints made by employees. The issue further evolved into a broader discussion on how workplace allegations involving individuals from different communities are reported and interpreted in public discourse.
Tech Mahindra and other referenced organisations in related discussions were not directly involved in this case, but the wider conversation reflected growing sensitivity around workplace conduct allegations and their portrayal in digital and news media.
