The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has said that for the past 100 years, it has been rendering selfless service for the nation and Dharma while building the youth force envisioned by Swami Vivekananda, and that through Pancha Parivartan, it is fostering the feeling of unity among Hindu society and taking the nation forward. Speakers made these remarks during the Sangh Shiksha Varg (Samanya) – Sarvajanikotsavam organised by RSS-Telangana on Friday at Vidyabharati Vignana Kendra in Nadargul, Bhagyanagar. (Hyderabad ). The event, held on May 22, reflected Hindu Sanghatan and Bharatiyata while showcasing the patriotism and talents of the shiksharthis.

Addressing the function as the chief guest, Lohia Group chairman Kanhaiya Lal Lohia said that he could see the spirit of national awakening in the faces of the swayamsevaks who had dedicated themselves under the guidance of the RSS. He praised the organisation, stating that swayamsevaks had stood firmly with the nation during the freedom movement as well as at the time of Partition. He said he had personally witnessed instances where swayamsevaks supported people during times of disaster by feeding the hungry, providing medicines, and even performing last rites, adding that only those with true patriotism could carry out such service.

He stated that whatever is taught in the Sangh is entirely for the nation and never for personal gain. Kanhaiya Lal said that although they are engaged in business, it is not merely for profits, but also for the development of the country. He expressed his belief that the business sector should contribute towards poverty eradication, educational development, and gosseva. Stating that “service to humanity is service to Narayana”, he remarked that this is exactly what the RSS has been doing. He further expressed hope that all those who received training in this Shiksha Varg would emerge as an inspiration for future generations.

Participating as the chief speaker, RSS Telangana Prant Sahakaryavah Erra Nursing spoke about the 100-year journey of the Sangh. He explained that Sangh founder Doctor Hedgewar was patriotic from birth, and that in Kolkata, he worked with the revolutionary organisation Anushilan Samiti and later in the then Congress Party, taking responsibility for the nation upon his shoulders and working alongside revolutionaries and freedom fighters for independence. Nursing stated that Doctorji frequently questioned how our vast and prosperous Bharat had become captive in the hands of merely a handful of people, and ultimately believed that the Hindu Sanghatan alone was the correct path, and therefore started the Sangh in 1925 with merely five or six children. He explained that despite facing ridicule and discouraging words, he moved forward undeterred.

He recalled that despite the Sangh being banned three times, it crossed those obstacles with determination and moved ahead strongly. He also recalled that during the China war, the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru praised the dedication and sacrifice of swayamsevaks and invited the Sangh to participate in the 1963 Republic Day parade.

Nursing also spoke about the ban during the Emergency period, the challenges faced by Sangh karyakartas, their determination, and another ban imposed during the RamJanmabhoomi movement in 1992, and how the Sangh overcame that as well. He stated that under all circumstances, the Sangh remained committed only to the nation, and that apart from education and medical service, swayamsevaks rendered service during natural disasters and accident incidents by confronting difficult situations. He cited incidents in which even Christians and Muslims praised swayamsevaks during such service activities. He said that more than 1.3 lakh service activities are being carried out through the Sangh.

Calling upon people to remain alert against those who convert religion through deceptive words, he urged vigilance. Nursing stated that through Pancha Parivartan, the Sangh is taking the nation forward by creating the feeling in Hindu society that “we are all one”. He also called upon people to remain alert against global market forces that seek to control the country through trade, and urged that importance should be given only to Swadeshi. He stated that the daily shakha in the Sangh acts as a centre of strength, a system for personality development, and a centre of values shaping the youth. He said that in the Treta Yuga, the Yagnasthala used to function as a centre of power, and today the Sangh Sthan is functioning as such a social centre of strength.

In this programme, Kshetra Sanchalak Dr Vaman, Telangana Prant Sanghchalak  Barla Sundar Reddy, and Varg Sarvadhikari Subhash Chandra Bose participated.

The organisers stated that a total of 260 shiksharthis participated in the Sangh Shiksha Varg (Samanya), which was held from May 7 to May 22, and that the Matruhasta Bhojan programme with 94 families was conducted in a special manner on May 15.

They explained that officials from the district, Vibhag, Prant, Kshetra, and Akhil Bharat levels imparted training to the shiksharthis. As part of the Sarvajanikotsavam, the Path Sanchalan, Pada Vinyas, Danda Vyayam, Niyuddh, and Dwandwa Yuddham demonstrations presented by the swayamsevaks, who were trained with the objectives of protection, discipline, and social welfare, greatly impressed the audience. The Ghosh musical performance and the games conducted in the shakha emerged as special attractions.
