Guwahati: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Assam on Wednesday on a three-day visit, heading straight to Hojai where a major RSS karyakarta training camp is currently underway.
Sarsanghchalak Dr Bhagwat landed at Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati before proceeding to Hojai on Wednesday evening. RSS North Assam Regional Prachar Pramukh Kishore Shivam confirmed the visit through an official press release. Shivam said “ this is a part of the regular Sangh activity. Sarsanghchalak Dr. Bhagwat will attend the training camp for consecutive three days and will interact with the karyakartas attending the camp.”
The Sarsanghchalak will attend the RSS Karyakarta Vikash Varg — Dwitiya Varsh training sessions on May 14, 15 and 16. He will address and interact with swayamsevaks gathered at the Sanskar Mandir Prakalpa premises in Hojai. On May 17 morning, Bhagwat will return to Guwahati and subsequently leave for Nagpur after completing his Prabhas in Hojai.
The 20-day Karyakarta Bikash Varg Class-I began on May 11 and is scheduled to conclude on June 1. The training is being conducted under the RSS Assam Region and covers five regions — North Assam, South Assam, Tripura, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
A total of 103 swayamsevaks are participating in the camp. North Assam has sent the largest contingent with 56 volunteers, followed by Tripura with 20, Manipur with 13, South Assam with 8 and Arunachal Pradesh with 6.
The camp at Sanskar Mandir Prakalpa is designed to provide structured ideological and organisational training to RSS workers — a core part of the Sangh’s yearly capacity-building exercise across its regional units.
Dr Bhagwat’s decision to personally attend the camp in Hojai underscores the RSS’s emphasis on direct engagement between its top leadership and grassroots workers — particularly in the Northeast, a region the Sangh has been expanding its footprint in steadily over the past decades.
