The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has issued a sharp attack over allegations surrounding people wearing saffron during the ongoing protests by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Connaught Place, New Delhi, accusing those involved of attempting to malign the saffron identity through political deception.

In a strongly worded post on X, ABVP questioned whether saffron clothing was being used as a tool of impersonation to create a misleading narrative and defame organisations associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

भगवा ओढ़कर बदनाम करने की साज़िश?

The colour that symbolises sacrifice, courage and राष्ट्रसेवा cannot be reduced to a costume for political deception.

If you have the courage to oppose RSS and ABVP, do it openly. Impersonation is not ideology, and deception is not dissent.… pic.twitter.com/Mhq5n2BEdW

— ABVP (@ABVPVoice) October 11, 2026

“The colour that symbolises sacrifice, courage and Rashtraseva cannot be reduced to a costume for political deception,” ABVP said, asserting that saffron represents a legacy of sacrifice, bravery and service to the nation not a prop for political theatre.

Taking a direct swipe at those it accused of attempting to discredit the RSS and ABVP, the student organisation declared: “If you have the courage to oppose RSS and ABVP, do it openly. Impersonation is not ideology, and deception is not dissent.”

ABVP maintained that disagreement with ideological organisations should be expressed openly rather than through actions that could create a false impression about their supporters or political affiliations.

Concluding its post with a pointed message, ABVP said, “Bharat deserves the truth, not political theatre.”
