Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple infrastructure and industrial projects worth around 9,400 crore rupees in Telangana.

These projects collectively aim to strengthen connectivity, improve logistics efficiency, enhance safety and provide a better travel experience for people.

The event, held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, was attended by Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and other senior leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said, India is effectively managing the energy crisis arising from the West Asia conflict due to the steps taken by the Centre, adding that the restrained use of fuel is the need of the hour. He said imported petroleum products should be used only as required, which would help save foreign exchange and reduce the adverse impact of the ongoing conflict. He also said that India has emerged as one of the leading countries in solar power generation.

Among the major projects unveiled include, PM MITRA Park in Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Built at an estimated cost of around 1,700 crore rupees, it is the country’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park and is aimed at creating an integrated textile ecosystem under the Centre’s “5F” vision – spanning farm, fibre, factory, fashion and foreign markets.

PM Modi said, there was a time when India ranked among the world’s leading economies, with the textile industry serving as one of the strongest pillars of its growth story. He said the sector is now being prepared for a fresh phase of expansion. He added that the PM MITRA Park in Warangal will provide new momentum to the country’s textile industry, with units in the park set to benefit from multiple central government schemes aimed at boosting manufacturing and exports.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the the four-laning of National Highway-167 between Gudebellur and Mahabubnagar as part of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, and the development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district.

The Prime Minister also flagged off several railway and logistics projects, including sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada rail multi-tracking corridor, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass, and a new Greenfield Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) terminal in Hyderabad.

  • PM MITRA Park inauguration was done in Warangal and foundation stone was laid for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area.
  • The Centre had given approval for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project three years ago itself. Once the land acquisition process is completed and Central Cabinet approval is received, the works will begin.
  • Modernisation works of 42 railway stations are underway across the state.
  • Secunderabad Railway Station: This station is being prepared by the end of this year with ultra-modern facilities at the level of Shamshabad Airport at a cost of ₹220 crore. Recently, the Cherlapally Railway Station was also made available.
  • Kazipet–Vijayawada Multi-Tracking: As part of this project, works in various sections completed at a cost of ₹1,250 crore were inaugurated.
  • The ultra-modern bypass line constructed in Kazipet at a cost of ₹300 crore was inaugurated.
  • Prestigious projects such as the Sammakka-Sarakka Central University, Railway Manufacturing Unit and AIIMS hospital are continuing in the state.
  • The Centre provided Telangana with the Ramagundam Fertiliser industry inaugurated earlier and the NTPC power projects worth ₹13,000 crore.
  • IOC Greenfield Terminal: The ultra-modern Greenfield POL terminal constructed by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at Malkapur in Hyderabad at a cost of ₹610 crore was inaugurated.
  • Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor (NH-167): Foundation stone was laid for the 4-lane road works from Gudeballur to Mahabubnagar to be undertaken at a cost of ₹3,180 crore.
  • Zaheerabad Industrial Area: Foundation was laid for the development works of this industrial area at a cost of ₹2,360 crore.
  • Till 2014, Telangana had 2,400 km of national highways, whereas in the past 11 years, the Centre constructed an additional 2,600 km of new highways.
