NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “A voter turnout of nearly 93 per cent in West Bengal is, in itself, historic. New voting records have also been set in Assam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala. A particularly noteworthy aspect is that women’s participation has been exceptionally high across all these states. This presents the brightest picture of Indian democracy.”
He further added, “The Ayushman Bharat scheme will be given the green signal in the very first Cabinet meeting. Additionally, the strictest possible action will be taken against infiltrators.”
Recalling a past experience, PM Modi remarked, “In 2013, when the BJP named me as its Prime Ministerial candidate and I went to Kashi to file my nomination, journalists surrounded me. At that moment, words spontaneously flowed from my heart- ‘Neither have I come here on my own, nor has anyone sent me; Mother Ganga has called me.’ Today, I feel in every moment that the blessings of Mother Ganga remain upon us all.”
Referring to West Bengal, he said, “This time, the entire nation heard a new kind of news; voting in West Bengal took place peacefully, and not a single innocent citizen lost their life. Following the BJP’s victory, the motto should be ‘Change, not Revenge.’ Politics should be about ‘The Future, not Fear.'”
Appealing to the workers of all political parties, the Prime Minister said, “Come, let us put an end to this cycle of violence. Rising above the question of who voted for whom, let us work together for the betterment of Bengal.” He noted that decades of political violence have impacted many lives and a change in this regard is now essential.
Emphasizing the power of women (Nari Shakti), PM Modi stated, “Certain anti-women parties prevented the passage of the “Nari Shakti Vandan Bill”. I had warned earlier that they would have to face the wrath of women. Today, the public has punished the TMC, Congress, and DMK. The Samajwadi Party- which engages in anti-women politics, will also not be able to escape the consequences of its misdeeds.” He further stated, “Nari Shakti (women’s power) is emerging as the strongest pillar in the building of a developed India. Some parties attempted to hinder their progress by opposing women’s reservation in Parliament, but the public has now given them a fitting reply. Our sisters and daughters have delivered a clear message through their votes.”
PM Modi expressed confidence that, in the times to come, women will stand even more firmly for their rights and steer the country’s future in the right direction.
