Jabalpur: “Sangh is the only organisation in the world that has remained continuously active for over 100 years,” said Ram Madhav while addressing a Pramukh Jan Goshthi at Jabalpur on April 20, 2026. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes before the portrait of Bharat Mata. This was followed by a collective rendition of the national song Vande Mataram.
Describing it as a “100-year-old young organisation,” he said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has never attempted to impose its ideas on society; rather, it has worked towards individual character-building and social awakening by imbibing values derived from the Sanatan tradition.
He noted that Bharatiya culture has always been inclusive of diversity. During the period of Mughal invasions, the Bhakti movement strengthened the spirit of unity in society. Thereafter, great personalities such as Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Swami Vivekananda carried forward the work of cultural awakening. Continuing this tradition, in the modern era, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is engaged in social and national resurgence.
He further stated that in 1925, Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the Sangh with the objective of awakening national consciousness and promoting cultural upliftment. The Sangh has played significant roles in various periods, including its contribution during the 1962 India-China war, following which swayamsevaks were invited to participate in the 1963 Republic Day parade. He also referred to movements for the protection of democracy during the Emergency and campaigns such as the construction of the Ram Temple.
He elaborated on the key dimensions of “Panch Parivartan” — family awareness, social harmony, self-awareness (Swa), environmental protection, and civic duties stating that spreading awareness on these subjects among society is a major objective of the Sangh today.
He remarked that “the entire society itself is the Sangh,” and that the organisation is carrying forward the nation-building efforts undertaken by great personalities since ancient times, which require the cooperation of all.
On this occasion, chief guest Dr Professor Vineeta Kaur Saluja, along with Bhag Sanghchalak Gyarasiya Ji, Prant Sanghchalak Dr Pradeep Dubey, and several distinguished citizens were present.
