NEW DELHI: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Delhi, organized a widespread and decisive protest today across more than 30 colleges of the University of Delhi, demanding resolution of basic and pressing issues affecting students. Over 4,000 students actively participated in the protests, clearly reflecting the growing dissatisfaction among students regarding the prevailing disarray and mismanagement in the academic environment.
The protest primarily focused on critical concerns such as dilapidated infrastructure, lack of adequate hostel facilities, and administrative inefficiency within colleges. During the protest, ABVP activists raised their demands in a peaceful yet assertive manner across various college campuses. The protesting students also submitted memoranda to college principals and the administration, making it clear that if immediate steps are not taken to address these fundamental issues, the organization will be compelled to intensify its protest in the coming days.
The large turnout and enthusiastic participation of students demonstrate a heightened awareness among them regarding their rights, and a clear unwillingness to tolerate administrative negligence any longer.
ABVP Delhi has unequivocally stated that college administrations must shed their apathy and act promptly to fulfill students’ demands. The organization remains committed to ensuring justice for every student and safeguarding their academic future. This movement will continue until the concerns of the last student are addressed.
Sarthak Sharma, State Secretary of ABVP Delhi, stated that protests were held in more than 30 colleges, including Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College and Ramjas College. He emphasized that this movement is directed against long-pending basic and key issues that have adversely impacted students’ academic lives for years. The participation of over 4,000 students clearly indicates that the university administration has been neglecting the basic needs of students.
