Arrest and Charges Filed

According to officials, the accused, identified as Shanu Malik, hails from Sambhalheda village in the Mirapur area. He was taken into custody on Monday after law enforcement agencies reviewed the content he had posted online.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal confirmed that the video contained objectionable material deemed “anti-national” in nature. Following the arrest, police seized Malik’s mobile phone as part of the investigation to examine further digital evidence.

Authorities have booked the accused under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to acts endangering the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India. In addition, he has been charged under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, a stringent law dealing with unlawful and anti-national activities.

Investigation Underway Amid Rising Digital Surveillance

Police officials stated that further investigation is ongoing to determine the intent, reach, and potential impact of the content shared. Authorities are also examining whether the accused acted alone or had connections with any larger network.

The case highlights increasing scrutiny by law enforcement agencies over social media platforms, where objectionable or sensitive content can spread rapidly. Officials reiterated that strict action would be taken against individuals found engaging in activities that threaten national integrity or public order.
