LUCKNOW: In an era where digital screens dominate the lives of young people, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasised the importance of cultivating the habit of reading books and limiting the excessive use of internet media among children. Speaking during a public interaction programme at his official residence in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi advised students to prioritise learning through books and meaningful activities rather than spending long hours on digital platforms.

During the weekly “Janata Darshan” programme, the Chief Minister meets citizens from across the state to hear their grievances and ensure prompt redressal. The event saw participation from people from various districts of Uttar Pradesh, who gathered to present their concerns to the state leadership.

Advice to Children: Books Over Excessive Screen Time

While interacting with attendees, including families and children present at the programme, the Chief Minister offered a simple yet significant message. He encouraged young students to develop the habit of reading books regularly and to avoid unnecessary dependence on internet media. According to him, the internet can be useful when used wisely, but excessive consumption can distract students from their studies and affect their concentration. He highlighted that reading books helps build knowledge, strengthen imagination, and enhance analytical thinking, all of which are essential for academic and personal growth.

The Chief Minister also noted that children should use digital media only when necessary, particularly for educational purposes. He advised parents and guardians to monitor how much time their children spend on screens and guide them toward productive activities such as reading, learning new skills, and participating in sports.

The Janata Darshan is an important platform where citizens directly interact with the UP Chief Minister to seek solutions to their problems. People from different districts approach UP CM Yogi with petitions regarding administrative issues, law and order concerns, and personal grievances.

Officials present at the programme were instructed to carefully examine each application and ensure timely resolution. The Chief Minister stressed that every complaint must be handled with seriousness and sensitivity so that citizens receive justice without unnecessary delay. He directed district administration and departmental officers to remain proactive in addressing public concerns.

During the interaction, CM Yogi also reminded officials that effective governance depends on the quick and transparent resolution of public grievances. He asked administrative authorities to maintain accountability and ensure that no complaint remains pending without proper action. Officials were instructed to track cases closely and provide updates until the problem is fully resolved.

The Chief Minister also reiterated that strict action would be taken against negligence or delays in handling public complaints. Ensuring efficient delivery of government services, he said, is essential for strengthening trust between the administration and the people.

In addition to addressing individual complaints, the Chief Minister also reviewed matters related to development and investment in the state. He stated that the government is committed to creating a better infrastructure framework to support economic growth and improve public services. According to him, Uttar Pradesh is continuously working toward strengthening connectivity, administrative efficiency, and digital systems to improve governance. Several initiatives are being implemented to ensure that citizens receive services faster and more efficiently. He also emphasised that development projects must be executed with transparency and strict monitoring so that public resources are utilised effectively.

During the session, some citizens raised issues related to police matters and local disputes. The Chief Minister took note of these complaints and directed concerned authorities to ensure a fair and prompt investigation. He instructed police officials to handle such matters with sensitivity and ensure that victims receive proper support and protection. Maintaining law and order and addressing citizens’ security concerns remain among the top priorities of the state government, he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted that governance becomes stronger when people actively participate in administrative processes. Programs like Janata Darshan enable the Uttar Pradesh government to directly understand citizens’ problems and develop appropriate solutions. He encouraged people to continue sharing their concerns through official platforms so that authorities can take corrective measures where necessary. Public participation, he said, plays an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.

Beyond administrative matters, the advice of Yogi Adityanath to children shows concern about the changing lifestyle of young people in today’s digital age. With smartphones and social media becoming common, many teachers and parents are worried that students are spending too much time in front of screens.
