Amid the ongoing attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Sardar Hossein Nejat, claimed that Pakistan allowed its airspace to be used to launch strikes on Iranian territory. He warned that Pakistan would “pay the price” for its alleged role and said it could face a barrage of Iranian missiles in response.

The post included a map showing the shared border between Iran and Pakistan. It visually highlighted areas along the border that could be vulnerable, suggesting points through which Iran might target Pakistan. The accompanying map showed alleged routes from Pakistan, Balochistan region into Iran, pointing out potential weak spots along the shared border.

“Our precise investigations indicate that the United States and the Zionist regime used Pakistan’s airspace in their attack on Iran. Pakistan will soon pay the price for this action and, like the Gulf (states), will not remain safe from our missiles.” Sardar Hossein Nejat said.

Shia Protest in Pakistan against killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

On March 1, protests broke out in Pakistan against the United States and Israeli bombing of Iran, which resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The protests turned violent, and at least 23 people were killed. In Karachi, 10 protesters died after a mob broke through the outer wall near the US Consulate and security personnel opened fire.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the US Embassy and Consulates on Mai Kolachi Road in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city on Monday. The most serious violence happened there. Some young men climbed over the outer gate of the consulate, entered the driveway, and broke the windows of the main building.

Security forces later used gunfire and tear gas to disperse the crowd. Police surgeon Summaiya Syed said that at least 10 people were killed and around 60 were injured. Some of the injured were in critical condition.

Pakistan’s army and army-controlled political leadership is unquestionably subservient to the US, and is accused of having covert ties with Israel, a country, Pakistan does not even officially recognise. Pakistan is already getting hammered by Afghanistan, if Iran decides to avenge Islamabad’s treachery, Pakistan will get engulfed in war with Iran, along with Afghanistan, in addition to civil unrest.
