As tensions continue to spiral across West Asia following recent military strikes and retaliatory actions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has issued a strong condemnation of Iranian missile attacks targeting multiple regional states.

Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, condemned in the strongest terms what he described as Iranian missile strikes on the territories of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

He characterised the attacks as a “flagrant violation of sovereignty” and affirmed that all GCC member states stand in full solidarity in response to the developments.

“The Council places all its capabilities at the disposal of these nations to support whatever measures they take to defend their sovereignty, security, and national interests, while maintaining their right to respond and defend themselves in accordance with the principles of the United Nations (UN) Charter,” Albudaiwi stated.

The GCC Secretary General also warned of the broader implications of the escalation, noting that such actions pose serious risks to regional stability and security.

He reiterated that GCC member states have consistently advocated for peace and stability in the region and stressed that targeting the territories of GCC nations contradicts international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighbourliness.

Albudaiwi further called on Iran to immediately cease any escalatory actions that could undermine regional security and stability.
