GUWAHATI: Top-to-bottom leaders of Congress now speak venom only. Congress again wants to push Assam into anarchy and violence. They want to hand over Assam to infiltrators and they want to eradicate the original identity of Assam.Guwahati: The Prime Minister,  Narendra Modi inaugurated Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu across the Brahmaputra in Guwahati, Assam, today. PM Modi stated that this bridge is a vital infrastructure project for Guwahati and areas around it. “Connectivity, comfort and commerce will be significantly enhanced. It will enable devotees to go to the Kamakhya Temple with greater ease”, PM Modi added.

The Prime Minister posted on his X handle, “Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu across the Brahmaputra is a vital infrastructure project for Guwahati and areas around it. Connectivity, comfort and commerce will be significantly enhanced. It will enable devotees to go to the Kamakhya Temple with greater ease.”

The Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu is India’s first 6 lane Extradosed Bridge. The bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra, which reduces the distance between the twin cities of Guwahati and North Guwahati from 40 mins to 7 mins! This bridge, built at a cost of over Rs 3,000cr with many advanced features, will act as a catalyst of growth in the Gateway to South East Asia and provide seamless access to people travelling between the capital city and prominent institutions such as AIIMS on the North Bank.

PM Modi also virtually inaugurated the NIC Data Center, Guwahati and IIM Guwahati temporary campus. Along with this the PM also flagged off 100 green buses for Guwahati city.

Later, PM Modi attended a huge Booth Vijay Snakalpa rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking to the party workers, PM Modi attacked the Congress party for their misrule in Assam and Northeast for many decades. PM Modi said, “Congress party always kept Assam unsettled for decades. The state was always amid violence, blast and bullets. Only Congress was responsible for that.” He further said that when I visited Assam for the Sangh’s assignments, it took 7 days for a 3-day program due to bandh and curfew. But the BJP and NDA government is working for permanent peace and fast development of Assam. “There was a time when hundreds of people were killed in Assam every year due to insurgency and violence, now such incidents have been reduced to almost nil”, PM said.

Urging the booth workers of the BJP to work tirelessly for the party’s third consecutive win in the coming assembly election PM Modi said, “after remaining powerless for over 10 years, the Congress party has become more venomous. Top to button leaders of Congress now speak venom only. Congress again wants to push Assam into anarchy and violence. They want to hand over Assam to infiltrators. Their leaders in Delhi and Assam are trying to protect the infiltrators only and they want to eradicate the original identity of Assam. So the coming five years are very critical for the state,” he added.
