Guwahati: Death is much better than surrendering before illegal intruder Miya from Bangladeshi, said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Addressing a huge gathering in the 95th annual conference of Srimanta Sankardev Sangh in Sonitpur the CM said, the Assamese society is going through a difficult phase. These people are trying to snatch the economy of the state from our own people. They have encroached 30 lakh bighas of land in the state by various means. Assamese people have been reduced to minorities in 12 districts of Assam. CM Sarma said in Nagaon district, the birth place of Mahapurush Sankardev, Assamese people are now minority.

Attacking Congress party and its leadership CM Sarma said, in this difficult time of the Assamese community, a section of people have surrendered in front of the Bangladeshi Miya and are now talking about ‘Notun Bor Asom’ (New Greater Assam). They are trying to make the Assamese people believe that we have to surrender before the Bangladeshi Miya. But our government has freed 1.5 lakh bighas of land from those Miya intruders. We have made sure that 92 per cent government jobs are reserved for our own people. We have successfully created an Assamese ecosystem within the government in the last five years. As an Assamese I am not willing to surrender before these people. Assamese people will rise and fight against these forces with a new energy in coming days, CM Sarma added.

3 Bangladeshi expelled:

On February 7, the Assam government ordered the deportation of three Bangladeshi nationals declared as illegal immigrants in Karbi Anglong district, according to officials. The Foreigners Tribunal issued three distinct rulings in December, classifying them as such under Section 2 of the Immigrants(Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950. The District Commissioner signed the individual expulsion notices, which were delivered to the trio, requiring them to exit India within 24 hours.

The individuals are Md Fakruddin from the Bokajan police station area and Md Rafiqul Ali and Md Faizul Haque from the Manja police station area in Karbi Anglong. It should be mentioned that in the last three months Assam government has expelled numbers of declared foreigners from the state. These were the people declared as foreigners by the Tribunals in the last several years but not expelled from the state due to various reasons. Now after enforcement of the Immigrants(Expulsion from Assam) Act,1950, the District Commissioners are empowered to take legal actions against these declared foreigners without any legal issues
