Harsh Mander’s case against Assam CM on ‘Miya’ row; Sarma said “NRC Wrecker, I’ve proof for 100 countersuits”

GUWAHATI: Who is Harsh Mander? I have seen many like him, said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Reacting to a question on a case filed by Mander against him in Delhi, CM Sarma said Harsh Mander is the person who spoiled the NRC update process in Assam. “ If I were the chief minister then, I would have taught him a lesson”, the CM said. He further said, “Mander filed one case against me; just wait and see how many cases will be filed against him in Assam.” Not less than 100 cases will be filed against him, and I have enough evidence to file these cases against Mander, he added. “Harsh Mander has poked me, he thinks this will go like this but this time he will get a tough reply,” CM Sarma added.

CM Sarma said that people like Harsh Mander and the gang alleged that I only talk against Miya. I reiterated it, I will go against them. They have encroached on our Satra land, forest land, PGR, VGR, and Muslim boys are trapping Hindu girls in Love Jihad, and these people think we should remain silent. “Miya means Bangladeshi infiltrators, I will try my level best to push them back from our land and I will continue this.”, he said. Attacking the Congress party, CM Sarma said that even if a thousand Rahul Gandhis and Gaurav Gogois come, I will continue my action against Miya. The Congress party is now gone mad for Miya Muslim votes. So they are trying to include the Bangladeshi infiltrators in the ambit of the Assamese society. But we will not allow them to do this, CM Sarma added.

On January 26, CM Sarma said that the Miya people shouldn’t get the chance to vote in Assam; they should go and vote in Bangladesh. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a government program in Duliajan, CM Sarma said that when the SIR of the voter list is done in Assam, at least 4-5 Miya voters must be deleted from the voter list. “ Congress can criticize me as much as they wish, but my job is to make the Miya people suffer”, CM Sarma said. He further added that if they don’t get some harassment, they will come and invade Upper Assam also. No Assamese people are suffering for the SR of the voter list, some Miya people are suffering, and we shouldn’t border on that, he said. Attacking the Congress party, CM Sarma said, the party has now turned into a Miya-Muslim party.

Reacting to the accusations of the opposition parties that BJP leaders are interfering in the Special Revision (SR) of the voter list, CM Sarma boldly said that he has instructed the BJP men to file complaints against Miya people. “ We should make sure that the Miya people suffer and then only they will understand that the Assamese people are awake now.” He said everybody should trouble them to make them realise that this place doesn’t belong to them. If they suffer, then only they will leave Assam. “Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP are always against Miya, there is nothing to hide or hesitate. They have already reached some pockets of upper Assam and if we don’t make them suffer they won’t leave.” He warned media personnel against airing sympathetic coverage of the Miya community’s sufferings, cautioning that it could lead to “love jihad” targeting their own family members.
