The message:

“The sudden demise of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajit Pawar ji today in an aircraft accident is extremely unfortunate and sad. His public life was quite long and influential. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh offers him heartfelt tributes and prays to God to grant peace to his soul. Om Shanti.”

According to available information, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and four others lost their lives when a small, privately operated chartered aircraft crashed in Pune district. The aircraft had taken off from Mumbai and was en route to attend a series of scheduled political rallies. Sources said Pawar was slated to participate in four key public meetings ahead of the local body elections.

Preliminary findings from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suggest that the aircraft encountered severe technical difficulties and instability during its final approach at around 8:45 am. Further investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
