GUWAHATI: Miya-Muslims are starting a Jihad to defeat the BJP in the coming assembly election, said Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Criticising the Congress party for its appeasement politics, the CM said that the party has made the future of Assam and the Assamese people insecure.
Citing the example of applications received by the Assam Congress for assembly election candidature, CM Sarma said, “Over 750 people applied for Congress party candidature and out of those 750 more than 600 are Miya-Muslims.”
He further said the Congress party is collecting Rs. 50,000 for the application, and many Miya individuals have donated this amount to the Congress party to defeat the BJP. “They know that they won’t secure the candidature, but despite that fact they have applied and donated Rs. 50,000 to Congress to defeat BJP in the coming election. These Miya people have started a Jihad to defeat BJP, and defeating BJP is their Jihad.”, the CM said.
He further said that on the last day of filing the application, the Congress office and as a whole the Guwahati city was filled with Miya people coming from the lower Assam districts. “One Hindu leader of the Congress party called me and said save us. He said when we come to Rajiv Bhavan, it feels like coming to a mosque for Namaz.”, CM Sarma said.
Earlier, the Miya people also sought tickets from the Congress party, but they somehow hesitated to come in large numbers to Guwahati. “But now they think our leader himself has a Pakistan connection so we can openly come to Congress state headquarters,” CM Sarma said. He further said that despite huge support from Miya-Muslims, Congress can’t win the upcoming assembly election.”But supposedly, if they win, on the day of oathtaking Guwahati city will be invaded by Bangladeshi-origin Miya-Muslims.”
CM Sarma further stated that it is necessary to give the Miya people some trouble within the law. They will receive notices for Special Revision (SR) of the voter list, eviction notices, border police notices, etc. “ It is necessary to trouble them from time to time, otherwise they will think that they have defeated the Assamese people.” They must understand that the Assamese people are resisting them, otherwise it will be a walkover for them, CM Sarma added. He also said that the Congress party government means Miya rule in Assam and the indigenous people will be second-class citizens. So people of Assam will take a stable decision in the coming election in favour of the ruling BJP.
