NEW DELHI: “Life’s work should be carried out with efficiency and in a planned manner. Our conduct and thoughts should be exemplary for society. Harmony with all sections of society is essential,” said Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Shantakka ji, during her Bauddhik at the Mission School, Seoni campus, on January 5, 2026.
She stated that the values imparted through one hour of regular shakha help shape character. “Thousands of years ago, our rishis and munis gave the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.’ This does not come into practice merely through speeches, but is imbibed in conduct through daily shakha practice. The most effective way to guide society is one’s own conduct. It is necessary to bring our ancient dharma and culture into our day-to-day life”, she further said.
She said that despite thousands of invasions on India, our ancestors preserved dharma and culture, and nari shakti has played a significant role in protecting Indian culture, traditions, and values. Today, there is a need for women to recognise their inner strength and resolve to transform from ‘Nari to Narayani.’
Nature has bestowed divine blessings upon women. Behind the formation of great personalities such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Swami Vivekananda were the invaluable contributions of their mothers. A woman’s duty is not limited to the family; it also includes playing a leading role in nation- and society-building. Selfless service, sacrifice, and tolerance is the path from Nari to Narayani, she said.
Shantakka ji said that when someone in America asked Swami Vivekananda about Indian women, he replied that the Indian woman is unique, one who gives selfless love and, while enduring hardships, carries everyone along with her.
Today, women represent the nation in engineering, medicine, the armed forces, the media, and across all fields. There are numerous examples, such as leadership in Operation Sindoor and participation in the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan). She said that a woman should be sushila, sudheera, and samartha, so that she can keep herself, her family, and society united, and in any situation, remain organised and secure.
She said that “walking step by step together is not just a path sanchalan; it signifies moving in the same direction with shared thoughts and mutual affection, which reflects the core spirit of the organisation. Bringing this into one’s personal life is its true fulfillment.”
A path sanchalan and ghosh was also held at the event. Along the route, citizens at various locations showered the sevikas with flowers and encouraged them.
