BEGUMPET: The Institute of Inclusive Governance Hyderabad (IIGH) organised a one-day Round Table Conference on “Improving Governance in Telangana State: Public Fiscal Management & Welfare Governance” on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS), Begumpet. Bringing together policy experts, senior journalists, academics, and civil society representatives, the conference provided a platform for informed deliberations on two of Telangana’s most pressing governance challenges: fiscal sustainability and the effectiveness of welfare delivery mechanisms.
The discussions were led by prominent public intellectuals and practitioners, including Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, Founder of the Foundation for Democratic Reforms; Dr Narasimha Reddy Donthi, Visiting Senior Fellow at the Impact and Policy Research Institute, New Delhi; senior journalist Suresh Kochhatil; and Dr Krishna Reddy Chittedi, Associate Professor at the University of Hyderabad.
The conference was further enriched by the active participation of individuals from journalism, social work, the NGO sector, public policy research organisations, and higher educational institutions, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and perspectives.
