A fact-based reading of documented literature is essential to understand the service initiatives of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and its stated objective of strengthening social unity, speakers observed at a book launch programme held in Hyderabad on December 25.

The programme marked the launch of the English book “A Century of Service – RSS Service Programs among Scheduled Castes and Tribals”, authored by Anand Salve, along with the release of a Telugu publication titled “RSS in Telugu Regions”.  The event was organised under the auspices of the Samachar Bharati Cultural Association, Telangana.

Speaking at the event, retired Labour Commissioner and Akhil Bharatiya Vice President of Vanavasi Kalyanashram, H. K. Nagu, said that informed public discourse must be grounded in verified documentation rather than perception or hearsay. He noted that systematic documentation of social service activities enables society to assess institutions on facts and outcomes.

We are happy to inform that the book "A Century of Service : The RSS and its work among Scheduled Castes and Tribes" was launched at Hyderabad on 25th Dec, 2025 in a programme organised by Samachara Bharathi and Samvit Prakashan .

The main speaker, K. Shyam Prasad, Akhil Bharatiya Samajika Samarasata Sanyojak, underlined that the RSS has consistently worked in areas such as social harmony, education, healthcare and self-reliance. He said publications based on evidence and field testimonies help readers understand the long-term nature of service-oriented work and its role in fostering cohesion within society.

Addressing the gathering, Samachar Bharati President Gopal Reddy said such publications play a crucial role in countering misinformation. He observed that structured, factual documentation of service work strengthens informed debate and contributes to greater social understanding and unity.

The book titled “A Century of Service” documents, with supporting evidence, the service activities carried out by the RSS among Scheduled Castes and Tribal communities over the past century.

The present book is an analysis of various consistent positions, initiatives and activities taken up by RSS in the last many decades to achieve social equality and harmony. #SanghYatrahttps://t.co/tIwHFKsSn6

“RSS in Telugu Regions” book provides a detailed account of the social, cultural and service initiatives undertaken by the organisation in the Telugu-speaking regions.

Both books have been published by Hyderabad-based Samvit Prakashan.

Several senior functionaries, intellectuals, social activists and volunteers attended the programme, including RSS Bhag Sanghchalak Sambamurthy, B. Vidyadhara from Samvit Prakashan., marking the event with a strong turnout from across sections of society.
