SDPI thugs threaten to demolish 100+ yr old Aralumoodu Shivapuram Mahadeva Temple in Neyyattinkara

FacebookTwitterWhatsAppTelegramEmail

The week of November 24 to November 30, 2025, witnessed a series of deeply troubling and multilayered incidents that once again exposed the persistent socio-political and communal tensions across India and its neighbourhood. Across several states, alarming cases emerged involving forced religious conversions, coercion, identity fraud, and targeted exploitation, with Hindu communities disproportionately bearing the brunt. These episodes underscore a disturbing pattern that demands urgent scrutiny, one where vulnerable individuals are manipulated, intimidated, or silenced in ways that threaten both personal liberty and societal harmony.

Reports of historic temples being sealed, cultural practices being curtailed, and religious sentiments being sidelined reflect growing friction between authorities and traditional communities, raising vital questions about fairness, transparency, and equitable enforcement of the law.

Compounding these on-ground crises is the rampant spread of misinformation and inflammatory narratives on social media. Mislabelled videos, fabricated stories, and distortions of fact continue to shape public perception, further polarising an already sensitive environment. Such digital manipulation not only undermines truth but also poses grave risks to communal harmony and social trust.

For years, the responsibility of bringing such realities to light has fallen upon Organiser. The onus has been and continues to be on this platform to foreground these cases, document ground truths, and amplify the nation’s voice where others have chosen silence or selective reportage. By presenting these developments with clarity, depth, and accountability, Organiser remains committed to spotlighting injustices that threaten India’s social fabric.

The comprehensive briefing below presents each case in detail, an essential chronicle of events that shaped an intense and turbulent week, documented meticulously for your clear and informed reference.

The Case You Must Know

A 80-year-old Aralummoodu Shivapuram Sree Mahadeva Temple in Balaramapuram, Neyyattinkara (Thiruvananthapuram district) was formally sealed by municipal authorities in late November after renovation work and daily worship were interrupted, a move the municipality justified by asserting a land-ownership claim and posting a notice restricting entry. According to several published accounts and local activists, the immediate trigger for the sealing was pressure from individuals identified in media reports as activists of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), who allegedly objected to the renovation and are said to have threatened municipal officials and temple trustees, an allegation the SDPI has not publicly accepted or denied in the reporting cited. Journalists and community leaders also report that a Special Branch police officer telephoned the temple committee urging them to stop work, and that the combination of outside threats and official intervention led the municipal secretary to lock the gate “to prevent unauthorised entry,” effectively halting pujas and rituals until the legal status of the land could be clarified.

The episode has prompted sustained protests from Hindu organisations in the district, who argue the temple is historically significant, that the renovation followed traditional rituals such as a devaprasnam, and that the sealing represents selective enforcement that targets a minority religious site despite alleged illegal constructions elsewhere going unchallenged.Local media coverage shows a mix of official statements, eyewitness accounts and activist claims, and independent reporting notes that the facts remain contested: municipal records, complaint petitions and any formal FIRs or police orders will be determinative in assessing whether the sealing was a lawful action to protect public land or an overreach prompted by intimidation.

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh – Minor Girl Goes Missing; Suspect Arrested

On 12 November 2025, a minor student in Bijnor went missing while leaving for school. In Bhanpur, Bhopal, Shanu Khan of Eentkhedi-Ayodhya Nagar was reportedly assaulted by members of Maa Bhavani Hindu Sangathan. The incident occurred while Shanu was returning from meeting a local girl. Organisation members stated that the assault followed their review of WhatsApp messages exchanged between Shanu and the girl. During the confrontation, Shanu was questioned about his identity, address, and mobile phone. A video recording of the encounter circulated online, showing visible injuries near his eyes.

The girl later submitted a statement confirming the interactions were consensual and requested no action. She described Shanu as a previous acquaintance, asserting no wrongdoing occurred. Police noted the statements of both parties, and no FIR was filed.

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand – Daughter Reported Missing; Alleged Deception

In Birsanagar, Jamshedpur, Manohar Gorai and his wife reported their daughter, Anima Gorai, missing to senior police authorities on 23 November 2025. According to the parents, Anima’s disappearance followed her interactions with a young man who introduced himself as “Pappu” during her college commute. Over several months, Anima reportedly displayed behavioural changes, including reduced participation in household religious activities and questioning of traditions. Her marriage had been arranged, and valuables prepared, but on 9 November 2025, she went missing, with jewellery and cash also unaccounted for.

Further inquiries revealed that the acquaintance’s real identity is Salman Khan, a resident of Barinagar. The family alleged Anima may have been influenced or misled by him. Police have registered a case and are actively investigating, pursuing leads regarding her whereabouts, verifying the acquaintance’s identity, and attempting recovery of missing items.

Vellore, Tamil Nadu – Hindu Students Shown Religious-themed Film in Christian Schools

Minor students in Christian missionary schools were reportedly taken to watch The Face of the Faceless, a film depicting the life of a Christian nun. Screenings occurred over a weekend in November 2025 at local cinemas, including Vishnu Cinemas, Katpadi. Parents stated they were neither informed nor asked for consent. A video circulated showing a Christian pastor escorting students into the cinema, sparking public debate.

Hindu Munnani representatives raised concerns that private schools cannot expose students to religious-themed films without parental consent. Questions were also raised about whether the Tamil Nadu School Education Department approved such screenings. Comparisons were drawn to incidents in 2024 where government schools faced scrutiny for Hindu spiritual lectures, while private Christian institutions promoting religious content did not face similar accountability.

Malappuram, Kerala – Hindu Epics Mocked in School Play

The performance was awarded first prize in the High School Drama category.

Hindu organisations, including Hindu Aikyavedi, objected, stating the play misrepresented Hindu culture and women, portraying it as regressive. Social media videos circulated showing dialogues critical of Hindu epics, raising concerns about selective cultural treatment compared to performances critical of Islam or Christianity.

Two assailants have been arrested; police are searching for the remaining two.

The attack, including the targeting and weapon use, raises concerns of potential communal motivation due to Akhilesh’s affiliation with a Hindu organisation. From 2021 to June 2025, 305 cases of religious conversion were registered, with 236 involving coercion under the guise of love and marriage. Indore recorded the highest number at 88 cases, followed by Bhopal.

Despite the surge, only seven cases have led to convictions over the last four-and-a-half years, while 51 accused were acquitted. Many acquittals occurred because victims confirmed that relationships were consensual. Currently, 162 cases remain under judicial review.

One victim described her ordeal: a man hid his identity, promised marriage, and later threatened her after she discovered he was Muslim and already married. From coercive conversions to violent assaults and societal exclusion, these events demonstrate the limits of current safeguards and the pressing need for stronger legal protections. They underscore that the preservation of religious freedoms is intricately linked to broader social justice and human rights imperatives.

Protecting cultural heritage and reaffirming constitutional guarantees are fundamental to maintaining the country’s pluralistic ethos. This weekly news compilation not only records the ongoing challenges but also serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold justice, safeguard freedoms, and strengthen social cohesion for a harmonious future.
