Jammu: “In the past hundred years, the Sangh has attempted to reach every section of society through daily Shakhas, service activities, educational and social initiatives. The Sangh’s core vision has always been to build a strong, confident, culturally aware, and organised Bharat. Swayamsevaks have generally been contributing in various spheres of social life silently and with a spirit of selflessness,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale.

He was speaking at the ‘Pramukh Jan Goshthi’ (Prominent Citizen’s Meet) organised on the occasion of centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the Convention Hall, Canal Road, Jammu on December 6.

Regarding the direction ahead, he emphasised the need to connect more and more youth with positive social activities, to weave society together rising above all forms of discrimination and through social harmony, to protect the environment, to strengthen the institution of the family and community-based life values, and to encourage every citizen to contribute actively to nation-building.

Hosabale Ji said that the Sangh’s centenary year is not the final milestone, but an important one in a long journey, after which there is a need to move ahead with even greater dedication for society and the nation.

In his address, Retired Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan highlighted the constructive role of the RSS in society. Thereafter, Hosabale Ji presented detailed thoughts on “100-year Journey of the Sangh and the Direction Ahead”. He mentioned the historical background of the Sangh’s establishment by Dr KB Hedgewar and described the gradual developmental journey of the Sangh.

Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale was present as the chief speaker, and Retd Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan as chief guest. Prant Sanghchalak Dr Gautam Maingi and Vibhag Sanghchalak Surinder Mohan were also present on the stage. Swayamsevaks, intellectuals, social workers, educationists, people from various professions, and representatives of different sections of society were present.

The main theme of the programme was “100-year Journey of the Sangh and the Direction Ahead”, in which detailed reflections were presented on the Sangh’s journey so far, its role in society, and the direction for the coming times. The Prominent Citizens’ Meet concluded in an inspiring atmosphere with the national song Vande Mataram. A large number of attendees understood the Sangh’s hundred-year journey and expressed renewed resolutions towards their duties towards society and the nation.
