Is Congress under Rahul Gandhi becoming more of a baggage for the regional parties?

The Congress Party, led by Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, is not prepared to take the lessons to heart, even after a string of the poorest performances. Instead of concentrating on development and working locally to alter people's perspectives, they are unfairly assaulting constitutional bodies and institutions with false narratives and misrepresenting our wonderful democracy on a global scale

The shifting gears in the Bharatiya election at the state and national levels is pretty remarkable. The patterns clearly reflect the decline of dynasty political parties; the caste-based voting pattern is collapsing; awareness of government policies is increasing; and the middle class, neo-middle class and poor people are aware of the truth and are refusing to accept the false narratives. The digital era has had a significant impact on the last mile in every village. New and younger generation is not falling for false narratives and is instead working together to create a prosperous society and the nation. The overall development and modernization of infrastructure, as seen in the United States, Europe and China, can be witnessed in major cities throughout Bharat and hence the younger generation are happy.

In the last two years, the BJP-led NDA’s third consecutive win in the Lok Sabha general election, as well as victories in various state elections in Chhattisgadh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi and now Bihar, demonstrates the people’s national thought process, which is vastly different from when people believed and voted for dynasties and the so-called Gandhi family without regard for development, external and internal security.

The Gandhi family and other regional parties, particularly dynastic political parties, are not prepared to accept the reality that the growth of patriotic sentiments among the populace, development and safety-oriented mindsets and international image are destroying dynastic political parties self-serving motive and a mindset of power over people and nation. As a result, they become restless and violent and many of their actions are essentially against the nation and its culture.

The Congress Party, led by Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, is not prepared to take the lessons to heart, even after a string of the poorest performances. Instead of concentrating on development and working locally to alter people’s perspectives, they are unfairly assaulting constitutional bodies and institutions with false narratives and misrepresenting our wonderful democracy on a global scale. Following the unsuccessful EVM accusations, they are now concentrating on “Vote Chori” and the Election Commission. They are desperate to win every election and their plan is to split Hindus along caste lines so that Muslims and divided Hindus can make them win. By awarding them the fewest seats, the Bihari voters demonstrated their position.

Take a look at the state of the Congress under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Uttar Pradesh: Only two MLAs out of 403. Maharashtra: Just 16 MLAs out of 288. Bihar: Just 6 MLAs out of 243. West Bengal: 0 MLA out of 294. These are Bharat’s four most populous states. Congress, however, never called for Rahul Gandhi’s resignation.

The national concerns and development agenda take a backseat when the party prioritizes “family first” over “Nation First”. Instead, the agenda that is detrimental to society and the country is put forth to severely damage the Bharat’s reputation abroad and divide society with false narratives, particularly among the Hindu community. Such political remarks and actions provide encouragement to the international powers attempting to destabilize Bharat. The worst aspect is that, because they are unable to gain power through democratic means, they are attempting to use the younger generation to instigate a violent uprising to overthrow the Modi government. However, the new generation are not falling into this trap since they are aware of the bad intentions.

Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the INDI alliance, which was founded with the sole goal of defeating PM Modi and consists of regional political groups. However, it is evident from the losses in Bihar, Haryana and Maharashtra that the Congress has become a burden for these regional parties. Congress and its leaders are the only reason why the regional parties are losing the faith of their core constituents. The regional parties must break away from Congress and reconstitute their cadre immediately, or else they will soon disappear. Even though Akhilesh Yadav will lose the UP elections, his party will suffer greatly if he stays with the Congress. He will suffer the same fate as Lalu Ydav, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thakare in their respective states. In contrast, Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan and Chandrababu Naidu gained from their alliance with the BJP.

Each political party should recognize that people living in remote areas or villages have a strong desire and access to facts and figures, so fake narratives will carry less weight than work on the ground with genuine intentions and equanimity at its core, rather than mere superficiality. The most important message from the Bihar Assembly election of 2025 is that the Election Commission must continue to do a good job of cleaning up electoral rolls. This was the most transparent election in Bharat in a long time.  For years, the BJP has maintained that there are numerous Bangladeshi and Rohingya bogus voters in Bharat. What we can say is that the cleansing process was carried out as transparently as possible and thus, in comparison to prior elections, this outcome in Bihar better represents the true will of Bihar’s voters.

Over the years, Modi’s government has directly reached out to the poor and impoverished through a variety of initiatives, resulting in a new class of dedicated ‘Modi voters’ across the country. Bihar is no different. PM Modi is always concerned about villages, the poor and farmers. He strikes an emotional chord with voters and is unquestionably the most popular worldwide leader. Majority of Bharatiyas love him. The NDA’s progressive outlook will almost certainly propel them to victory in the West Bengal elections as well.
