Guwahati: Assam police have arrested 5 more Islamist in connection with posting inflammatory contents in social media on Delhi blast. On 11th Assam police arrested retired school teacher Nazrul Islam for posting inflammatory content on the terror attack in the national capital. Informing the public on the arrests made by Assam police CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote in his X handle, “In connection with the recent Delhi blast, Assam Police has arrested the following individuals for spreading offensive and inflammatory content online:

  • Mattiur Rahman (Darrang)
  • Hassan Ali Mondal (Goalpara)
  • Abdul Latif (Chirang)
  • Wajhul Kamal (Kamrup)
  • Nur Amin Ahmed (Bongaigaon)

Assam Police will continue to act swiftly and firmly against anyone misusing social media to spread hatred or glorify terror.”

Talking to reporters on the sideline of a program in Kamrup, CM Sarma said, “We are in a very difficult situation in Assam. People here must remain vigil as such attacks may take place in Assam as their population is huge in the state. We must remain alert for a long period as we don’t know who is supporting them in our state. So the supporters of terrorism are being arrested by the police.” He further said that the Delhi blast has proved one thing that educated persons can’t be a terrorist.

“ Being educated doesn’t mean that a person is not a terrorist. It was a general perception for a long time that these people are deprived of education, so they can be used by anyone at will. But the Delhi terror attack was executed by educated jihadis.” CM Sarma said instead of condemning the terror act by educated terrorists, a section of people in Assam have celebrated the heinous attack and are trying to create a panic in the state.”, the CM said.

It should be mentioned that Assam police have identified over 34 persons who have posted inflammatory contents on Delhi terror attack. CM Sarma further said that these people are trying to fragmented our community in many ways. Sometimes they kill us with guns, sometimes with bomb blasts, sometimes with land jihad and sometimes in the name of so-called agitation. These people killed our brothers and sisters in Pahalgam and agitated during Zubeen Garg’s death to create unrest. “The colour of these people will never change. People who don’t sing Vande Maataram can’t be Indian and if you are not Indian you can imagine the nation as Bharat Mata. These people are not only terrorists, they are also Love Jihadis who destroy the lives of Hindu girls. So we must always remain alert.”, the CM added.
