On the occasion of 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS), a two-day lecture series titled “100 years of Sangh Journey: New Horizons” was held in Bengaluru on November 8 and 9. Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat addressed more than 1,200 invited dignitaries who hailed from diverse walks of life such as art, literature, law, defence forces, cinema, social service, government service etc. The Bengaluru edition of the lecture is the second in the four-lecture series planned across New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata. The first edition was held in New Delhi in the August.
While speaking to Organiser Weekly, the dignitaries revisited their long-standing association with RSS and acknowledged Sangh as an epitome of discipline and selfless service. They also hailed the role of the RSS in the growth story of Bharat and wished for the continued service of the Sangh in the decades ahead to realise the vision of Vishwaguru Bharat and to champion the goal of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam.
Sreenivas Harishkumar, Retired judge of the High Court of Karnataka congratulated RSS for`rendering 100 years of service to the motherland. He also revisited his association with the Sangh and participation in the shakha activities since his school days. He further hailed the relentless service of the RSS especially in the current era, despite facing severe backlash and criticism from certain elements of the society. Harishkumar further said that devoid of all the bottlenecks, Sangh should continue its good work in realizing the vision of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam.
Prakash Chandra, Indian Army Veteran considered that his decision to be a RSS Pracharak, post retirement has been an overwhelming experience. Revisiting his more than three years journey in RSS he exclaimed that to be in RSS is the best decision as a path to serve the country. RSS works selflessly for the growth and prosperity of Bharat and it is the organisation that will take care of the unity and integrity of Bharat in the challenging times ahead, Prakash Chandra further reiterated.
RSS Pracharak’s work selflessly for the well-being of the society without the expectations of personal gains. Thus, Prakash Chandra exclaimed that anybody before criticising the Sangh should visit it and understand the work, culture of the RSS regarding how they render selfless service to the nation.
B. Ravi, Director of National Institute of Technology(NIT), Surathkal, Karnataka expressed his happiness and gratitude for being a part of the 100 years celebrations of RSS. He exclaimed that the dignitaries assembled in the lecture had one consolidated goal which is ‘nation-first’. Everyone is yearning to realize the goal of Viksit Bharat and are relentlessly working in that direction by sprouting young, passionate and capable next-generation young minds who are determined for accelerating the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Uma Reddy, President of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FKCCI) congratulated the RSS on its centenary celebrations. She said RSS has been a symbol of discipline and has rendered incredible support to the progress and growth of India. She also wished greater success for the Sangh in its service towards the country in the centuries ahead, especially to realize the goal of Viksit Bharat.
Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Medical Professional from Bengaluru revisited the service of the Sangh to the nation. He said that RSS has worked in every domain with the ultimate goal of uplifting the masses. From relief operations in regions hit by natural calamities to ensuring tribal welfare and imparting value-based education to the younger-generation, RSS has contributed immensely to the country and its people. He, thus, called on the people to know more and read more about the selfless service of the Sangh who strive with the agenda of ‘Vyakti Nirman’ for ‘Rashtra Nirman’.
