Guwahati: Congress President Mallikarun Kharge’s son and Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge is a ‘First Class Idiot”, says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Reacting to a bizarre comment by Kharge on Assam and Gujarat CM Sarma said, “ He is a first class idiot. He has insulted the youth of Assam. But unfortunately Congress has not yet condemned Priyank Kharge. He said Assam doesn’t have educated and competent youth, we might file a case against the Congress leader. This is an insult to the entire Assamese youth.”, the cm added.

Talking to media persons, Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge asked why the central government is setting up semiconductor industries in states like Assam and Gujarat? “ I have raised this issue earlier also. Why are semiconductor industries going to Assam,Gujarat? They want to come to Banglore, why are all the investments coming to Karnataka being diverted to other states?”, the Congress leader questioned. The controversial Congress leader insulted Assam and Gujarat by asking the capability of the states to host a semiconductor industry. “ What is there in Assam, what is there in Gujarat, is there any talent? While industries are willing to come to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, why is it being diverted to Assam, Gujarat?”Kharge opined. This is not for the first time that the Congress president’s son has openly insulted Assam and Gujarat on the semiconductor industry issue. When Tata announced the setting up of a semiconductor industry in Jagiroad, Assam with an investment of 27,000 crores in 2024, Priyank Kharge opposed it vehemently. He repeatedly insulted the youth of Assam by saying that there is no talent in the state.

Not only the junior Kharge, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also insulted the emotion and talent of Assam when the central government decided to confer Bharat Ratna to late music maestro Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in 2020. Kharge said, “ leaving many deserving people behind from Kaharnata, the union government chose to confer the Bharat Ratna to a singer.” Recently participating in the 100 years birth anniversary of the legend Bhupen Hazarika, PM Narendra Modi said that he is stunned to know about the strange comment of the Congress president. Meanwhile people in Assam reacted sharply to the outlandish comment of the Congress leader. BJP leader Dilip Sharma said that the grand old party deprived Assam and Northeast from development for many decades, but under the leadership of PM Modi ji and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam has seen a new dawn of development which has become unbearable for the Congress party.
