The Verandah Club has announced the 4th edition of the Western Ghats Literary Festival, scheduled to take place in Coimbatore on November 1 and 2, 2025. Widely regarded as one of India’s most thoughtfully curated platforms for literary and cultural discourse, the festival brings together intellectual, cultural, and literary currents from across the country and the global Bharatiya diaspora.

Curated by Shefali Vaidya, Director of The Verandah Club, the festival promises a meticulously crafted experience combining scholarship, creativity, and cultural celebration. This year’s edition will be held under the theme “Bharat Fast Forward”, aims to blend classical Indic wisdom with contemporary intellectual inquiry.

The two-day event will feature over 30 eminent speakers, including authors, decorated veterans, scholars, and cultural commentators from across Bharat and the global Bharatiya diaspora. Sessions will explore topics such as Operation Sindhoor (protection of Dharma), Artha, Economics for Viksit Bharat, Nyaya, culture, heritage, and spiritualism, creating a multidisciplinary platform for ideas that define India’s civilisational ethos.

The festival will take place at Sarva Ballroom, The Grand Regent, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, from 8:45 AM to 6:30 PM on both days. Entry is free with advance registration.

The event will include keynote lectures, panel discussions, book launches, and art performances that blend classical wisdom with contemporary relevance. Sessions will cover diverse subjects including Operation Sindhoor, civilisational studies, heritage, economics for a Viksit Bharat, Indian knowledge systems, temple history, political thought, and cultural relevance.

Organisers have emphasised seamless execution, with careful attention to session sequencing, precise timekeeping, and hospitality, ensuring an immersive experience for attendees. “The Western Ghats Lit Fest is not an event we stage; it is a spirit we nurture. Each edition is a dialogue between the past and the possible future of India’s literary identity,” said Jaganathan S, Founder of The Verandah Club.

The festival will also feature a Book Pavilion by Subbu Books, showcasing curated titles from across the Indic spectrum, alongside collaborations with academic institutions, heritage bodies, and leading publishers to ensure intellectual and cultural authenticity.

With its focus on scholarship, creativity, and cultural dialogue, the Western Ghats Lit Fest 2025 is set to reinforce Coimbatore’s reputation as a hub of literary and cultural excellence in India.
