Victim’s father alleges negligence and threats in West Bengal
Meanwhile, the victim’s father, who hails from Jaleswar in Balasore district, alleged on Saturday that he is not receiving any cooperation from the hospital or local authorities in West Bengal.
Speaking to the media, he expressed frustration over the lack of communication, stating, “I am not getting any help from the hospital authorities. Even though there is a threat to my life, the West Bengal Government is remaining silent, despite this being a sensitive case”.
He further alleged that attempts are being made to divert attention from the incident and that only his brother has been assisting him in Durgapur. “Had the incident happened in Odisha, immediate action would have been taken”, he lamented.
Odisha government stands by the family
In response to these concerns, the Odisha Government has intensified coordination with West Bengal Police to ensure justice and protection for the victim’s family. Chief Minister Majhi has reiterated that the State Government will not rest until justice is served and the accused are given the harshest punishment under the law.
