Patna: Security has been stepped up along the Indo-Nepal border after violent protests continued for the second consecutive day in Nepal, forcing Nepali Prime Minister K. P Oli and his Ministers to tender resignation on September 9.
Authorities in the bordering districts including Araria, Kishanganj, Sitamarhi and Champaran are keeping a vigil watch on the evolving situation in Nepal and maintaining regular contact with the Nepali’s authorities.
Sashastra Seems Bal [SSB] personnel are put up on alert mode with intensified patrolling being carried out along the border as a precautionary measure. The administration in bordering districts has also been asked to keep a close watch on the developments.

Tourist’s entries have been banned and only local residents are allowed to cross the borders after proper scrutiny. Authorities are also closely monitoring on activities of those arriving in Bharat from Nepal. Intelligence units are also alerted.
Meanwhile a large number of migrant workers were forced to make a return to Bharat on Tuesday after violent protest hit Nepal on the second consecutive day, resulting in large scale damage to public property and attacks on several prominent Nepali leaders. Transport services have also been hit reportedly with several trucks carrying goods remained stranded near Jogbani integrated Check Post, Araria.
The officials however have assured that there is no law and order concern in the Bharatiya territory along the border and everything is normal.
“Peace is maintained in our border areas. Joint patrols are being done through SSB, district administration and police. There is no complaint related to law and order in our area. We hope that as the situation normalises. There is no problem of any kind. Everything is going on normally. There is no such concern of any kind. An advisory has been issued in this regard by the Government of India through the Ministry of External Affairs. Various numbers have been given therein. If anyone has any issue they must contact on that and if they have any concern it will be solved,” said DM, Araria Anil Kumar.
Bihar shares a long and porous border with Nepal with 7 of its northern districts touching the Himalayan country which is in midst of a major unrest after young protestors launched a nationwide [Gen Z] agitation against alleged corruption and other issues including the recently announced ban on social media apps.
