Guwahati: PM Narendra Modi is slated for a two-day Northeast visit on September 13 and 14. The visit is considered as a crucial one as the PM is likely to visit the trouble-hit Manipur. Sources in the Manipur administration said that the PM is likely to visit the capital city Imphal and Churachandpur town. Even though the security forces and administration are preparing for a VVIP visit in both the locations, no official schedule of the PM’s visit to Manipur is announced by the administration. The situation in Manipur has improved significantly in the last few months as no major incidents of violence were reported in the state. Manipur is under Presidential rule since February 2025.

PM Modi will reach Mizoram capital Aizawl in the first half of September 13. He will inaugurate the 51.38 km-long Bairabi–Sairang railway line. The project, seen as a key step under the Centre’s Act East Policy, is aimed at boosting connectivity and driving economic growth across the Northeast. The new railway line will connect Aizawl with the rest of the country through Assam’s Silchar. Despite challenging terrain, the Northeast Frontier Railway has accomplished remarkable work in extending rail connectivity to Aizawl, overcoming significant geographical and engineering hurdles to make this long-awaited project a reality.

From Manipur the PM will fly to Assam capital city Guwahati where he will participate in the yearlong birth centenary celebration of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika. The PM is likely to lay the foundation stone of the Guwahati city link road, a bridge over river Brahmaputra, Medical collage in Darrang district and will launch many development projects in Assam.

On September14 PM Modi is scheduled to visit Numaligarh in Golaghat district where he is likely to inaugurate the first Rs. 4200 crore Bio Refinery set up in Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. The bio refinery will convert Bamboo into 2G Ethanol which is first of its kind in the nation.
