Today’s young are so captivated by Bollywood movies and Western culture that they disregard the achievements of their own culture. They believe that Gotra and other such concepts are unnecessary, but our forefathers’ thinking was not narrow, but rather research-oriented and scientific, when they established the social rule that marriages should not take place within the same Gotra, in order to maintain genetic purity and avoid many incurable genetic disorders. Pedigree becomes even more important when the concerns of “genetic disorder” appear as a challenge. A pedigree can be used to determine the underlying cause of a genetic illness, as well as whether the problem originated with the mother or father.
Many of these issues can be answered by analysing the pedigree. In ancient times, Gotra was also constructed for this reason. Gotra can assist in keeping track of a person’s ancestors’ history. Many diseases are genetic and are passed down from generation to generation. Some diseases impact children through their grandfathers, fathers, and so on, whereas others are caused by their grandmothers or mothers’ families. Genetic illnesses are currently a hot topic of discussion. In ancient times, Gotra would corroborate this. Marriages, according to Gotra, are essential for a healthy society. Gotra is extremely essential in Sanatan Dharma. The literal meaning of ‘Gotra’ is extremely vast. The male organism’s sperm has one pair of sex chromosomes, while the female organism’s ovum contains the other. During reproduction, the male and female chromosomes of that species are united by the union of sperm and ovum. A species’ evolution is determined by the number of diverse sources from which its male and female chromosomes were received during reproduction. When male and female chromosomes from the same DNA means the same family members merge, genetic problems may occur or may occur for future generations. Based on these data, you can find the solution to your query. A Gotra, or clan, refers to a specific group of chromosomes. People from the same Gotra share the same chromosome set, and their mixing during reproduction may produce malformation in the progeny.
