Guwahati: Huge outrage across Assam against left liberal ecosystem’s support for Bangladeshi intruders residing illegally in the state. A left organisation named ‘AsomNagarik Sanmilan’  organised a day long program in Guwahati on 24th August to gain support for the evicted Bangladeshi origin Muslims in the state. The organisation led by left ideologist Dr. Hiren Gohain and Rajyasabha MP Ajit Bhuyan and supported by Congress, Jamiat and other opposition parties invited numbers of left leaders to Guwahati for the day-long seminar.

Prashant Bhushan, Syeda Hameed and many left activities openly supported the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. Former Planning Commission member Syeda Hameed opined that the Bangladeshi people have all right to live in Assam and India. The left activist said, “Our heart is with the Muslims of Assam. There is no crime in being a Bangladeshi. The country is so big and Bangladeshi can live here. They are not depriving anyone’s right. They are also human, and Allah made this world for humans. So, they have the right to live here and you can’t evict them so inhumanly. What is happening in Goalpara is also happening in Jamia Milia in Delhi. The eviction is like a devil on Muslims, and it is like Muslim genocide.”

Reacting sharply on her bizarre comment, All Assam Student Union (AASU) president Utpal Sharma said that she only shows her anti-Assam and anti-India mentality. She insulted the sacrifices of the 855 martyrs of Assam Agitation who laid their lives fighting against the aggression of the Bangladeshi infiltrators. He warned the left leaders not to insult the sentiments and sacrifices of Assamese people. He said it is an ultimate insult to the 58 women of Assam who were raped during Assam Agitation.

Denouncing her support for Bangladeshi intruders, BJP MLA Diplu Ranjan Sharma said if the world is one for her then she and the organisers of the event should go to Bangladesh and live there. He said it is an international conspiracy against Assam and India. The conspiracy initiated by Muhammad Ali Jinnah is now continued by people like Syeda Hameed, Mahmood Madani and very well supported by the Congress party. It is part of the larger conspiracy to change the demography of Assam and include it into greater Bangladesh. These people like Madani, Syeda Hameed, Prashant Bhushan, Harsh Mander are enemies of Assam and equally Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, Gaurav Gogoi and the organisers of the event are also enemies of Assam, MLA Sharma said.

BJP MLA Chakra Gogoi said Syeda Hameed is a Congress leader and always thinks against Assam as like her party. She said she lives in Jamia Milia in Delhi where they think and work only for Muslims. So it is obvious that she speaks about illegal infiltrator’s rights and speaks against Hindu.

Jatiya Sangrami Sena leader Situ Baruah said that people like Madani, Syeda Hameed and a large section are trying to make India an Islamic nation. He said people of Assam will decide who will stay here or not. No Pakistani agent has any right to speak on it. He demands immediate arrest of Madani, Prashant Bhushan, Syeda Hameed and others involved in the conspiracy against Assam.
