Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the preparation of a comprehensive “Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047” vision document, an ambitious blueprint aimed at shaping the state’s long-term development over the next two decades. Announced at the inauguration of the renovated dome at the Vidhan Bhavan entrance in Lucknow, the plan emphasises sustainable economic growth, better living standards, environmental conservation, effective governance, and social inclusion. To make the document truly representative of public aspirations, the government will invite citizen feedback through QR codes placed at public locations, ensuring that grassroots voices influence policy priorities. Once completed, targeted within three months, this vision will serve as a roadmap for budget planning, infrastructure expansion, and key policy reforms aligned with the national goal of a Developed India by 2047.

To ensure the document reflects the aspirations of the people, a QR code system is being introduced. The codes, displayed at various public locations, will allow citizens to submit their opinions, suggestions, and expectations for the state’s future. By allowing people to easily share their views, the government hopes to ensure that the vision document reflects not only administrative priorities but also grassroots needs. Officials confirmed that the feedback will be analysed and incorporated into the draft before it is tabled in the Assembly for discussion.

A Blueprint for Long-Term Development

The aim of Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047 vision document is to:

  • Advance sustainable economic growth through industrial expansion, agricultural modernisation, and enhanced trade connectivity.
  • Improve quality of life via better healthcare, education, housing, and sanitation.
  • Encourage environmental protection by adopting green energy and implementing conservation initiatives.
  • Improve governance effectiveness through digital upgrades and services designed around citizens’ needs.
  • Promote social inclusion by supporting marginalised groups and reducing regional inequalities.

The CM indicated that once finalised, the document will guide budget priorities, infrastructure projects, and policy reforms over the next two decades.

The Chief Minister praised the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly as a good example of how a parliament should work. He said that in recent years, it has promoted democratic values through respectful and useful discussions. He highlighted steps like making processes digital for better efficiency, improving the gallery to involve the public more, and renovating the Assembly Hall with modern facilities. He added that these efforts aim to make the legislature a place for healthy political discussions and new ideas for policies.

Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana urged leaders of all political parties to work together to ensure the proceedings run smoothly and yield productive outcomes. “As the largest legislative assembly in the country, our proceedings should inspire other states,” Mahana remarked. He called upon legislators to express their views within the bounds of parliamentary decorum and avoid unnecessary disruption of debates. Speaker Mahana also highlighted the Assembly’s emerging role as a focal point for important national discussions. By maintaining a culture of cooperation among political parties, the House can influence governance models beyond the state.

The CM supported this sentiment, expressing confidence that the upcoming session would see cooperation across party lines in advancing the Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047 agenda.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna stressed that the Vision Document 2047 should remain a top priority for all members of the Assembly. He urged both ruling and opposition parties to engage constructively in discussions to refine the document’s proposals. Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey echoed this call for collaboration, emphasising that the state’s developmental goals require unity of purpose despite political differences. Aradhana Mishra “Mona,” leader of the Congress Legislature Party, added that the drafting of the vision document is an opportunity to incorporate the voices of all stakeholders. She urged for extended debates to ensure the widest possible range of suggestions.

The CM also drew attention to the Assembly’s recent steps toward modernisation. The digitisation of legislative records has increased transparency and minimised the use of paper. The renovated assembly hall offers improved facilities for debates, while the canteen and common areas have been upgraded to create a more conducive working environment for members.

Why 2047 Matters?

India’s independence will complete a century in 2047. The central government has called upon all states to contribute to the goal of making India a fully developed nation by then. Uttar Pradesh, with its large population and strategic economic position, is expected to be a major driver of this transformation.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that UP’s progress will not only benefit its own residents but will also significantly influence India’s national growth metrics, from GDP contribution to social development indicators.

The CM emphasised that development is inseparable from good governance. He pointed out that a strong legislative framework, respect for democratic processes, and accountability to the public are essential for sustainable growth. The CM concluded his address with a reminder that development is a long-term commitment, requiring consistency, cooperation, and the courage to adapt. “Uttar Pradesh will not only achieve its own developmental milestones,” he said, “but will also be a proud contributor to the vision of a Developed India by 2047.”
