A chilling act of religious mockery has sparked global outrage among Hindus after a British-African YouTuber, accompanied by a cameraman, deliberately violated the sanctity of ISKCON’s pure vegetarian Govinda’s Restaurant in London. He brazenly consumed KFC chicken inside the Mandir premises and shamelessly offered meat to vegetarian devotees an act widely condemned as a deliberate provocation and a blatant affront to Hindu religious sentiments.
This was no accident. The entire incident appears to have been premeditated. The YouTuber walked into the ISKCON-run vegetarian restaurant with a bag of chicken from KFC, set up a camera, and began eating meat right at the counter fully aware that ISKCON strictly follows and promotes a sattvic, meat-free lifestyle in accordance with Vaishnava Hindu values.
What turned this from a violation into a hate act was his next move offering meat to Krishna devotees and recording their reactions. This wasn’t just a stunt for likes or a misguided prank. It was a calculated attempt to mock Hindu beliefs, provoke devotees, and test the limits of tolerance.
Despite the vile nature of the provocation, the devotees displayed remarkable restraint, with no retaliation or violence, demonstrating the very tolerance that was being mocked.
Hate disguised as humor: #Kafirophobia in action?
Vinod Bansal, National Spokesperson of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), took to X, to express outrage over the incident, calling it “an attack on Hindu sentiments” and questioning whether this act was a publicity stunt, a covert ad for KFC, or worse a manifestation of rising #Kafirophobia.
“Such misdeeds are not only an attack on Hindu sentiments but also a matter of behaving with dignity in someone else’s space,” said Bansal. “Will Mayor Sadiq Khan’s London Police act or let London continue its descent into ‘Londonistan’?”

The loaded term “Londonistan” increasingly used to describe the growing radicalism and intolerance under London’s multicultural governance — trended on social media as thousands of netizens called for police action.
Imagine the roles reversed. Had someone walked into a halal-only Islamic restaurant or a kosher Jewish space and consumed pork or beef on camera, the backlash — and media coverage — would have been immediate and fierce. Yet, in this case, mainstream British media and so-called secular watchdogs have remained conspicuously silent.
This is not the first time Hindu practices and spaces have been mocked in the West under the guise of freedom of expression. However, such acts are increasingly being viewed not as isolated incidents, but as symptoms of a growing intolerance against Hindus, often brushed aside under labels like “harmless prank” or “creative freedom.”
Recently in another incident on July 2, the ISKCON Sri Sri Radha Krishna Mandir in Spanish Fork, Utah, was subjected to a series of targeted shootings over several nights in June, leaving the Indian-American and Hindu community shaken, enraged, and demanding urgent action. The Mandir an iconic structure that has stood as a beacon of faith, peace, and multicultural harmony for over two decades—was riddled with 20 to 30 bullets, some fired while devotees and guests were present inside the premises.
