The banned Islamic terrorist organisation, the Popular Front of India (PFI), had prepared a hit list containing the names of 977 individuals in Kerala, including prominent leaders of the RSS and BJP. Among the identified targets are senior leaders of the Hindu Aikya Vedi (HAV), such as Working President Valsan Thillankeri and former State President KP Sasikala teacher. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized the list and submitted a detailed report to the Kerala High Court.

According to the NIA, the majority of individuals named in the hit list are leaders affiliated with the RSS and BJP. The list also includes a retired district judge who hails from Aluva, along with two other Aluva natives. The NIA revealed that PFI terrorists responsible for compiling this list were provided with a 36-question questionnaire, indicating a highly systematic and targeted approach to identifying potential victims.

The NIA’s report explains that the PFI’s so-called ‘reporter wing’ was tasked with identifying influential leaders from other communities deemed as threats, following which the ‘hit wing’ would plan and carry out eliminations.

The NIA also disclosed to the court that a separate list of 240 individuals was recovered from Sirajuddin, the terrorist in the murder of RSS karyakarta Srinivasan in Palakkad. Furthermore, the name of the former district judge was found in a smaller hit list of five people recovered from the purse of terrorist Abdul Wahab. Additional lists included a set of 500 names seized from the residence of another terrorist, Ayub, and 232 names found with Mohammed Sadiq.

These revelations came as the NIA opposed the bail applications of four PFI terrorists in the Srinivasan murder case, Mohammed Bilal, Riyasuddin, Ansar KP, and Zaheer.

The brutal murder of Srinivasan that took place on April 16, 2022. He was hacked to death in broad daylight by PFI activists at the Melamuri junction in Palakkad district. The assailants, who arrived on a motorbike, chased Srinivasan into a shop before attacking and killing him.

In a significant development, the NIA informed the court that the Periyar Valley Campus in Aluva, Ernakulam district, served as a weapons training centre for the PFI. The campus has since been declared a terrorist property and confiscated under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Dismissing the bail pleas, NIA Special Court Judge PK Mohandas stated that there were sufficient grounds to believe the allegations against the PFI terrorists were prima facie true.

Responding to the development, KP Sasikala teacher stated that “there is dignity in dying for society”.
