Iran launched missiles at Israel just after a ceasefire agreement between the two countries came into effect. According to The Times of Israel, two ballistic missiles fired by Iran were successfully intercepted by Israeli defence systems. Emergency sirens were activated across northern Israel, and authorities have instructed residents to remain in shelters.
In response, Israel is preparing for a major retaliation. Defence Minister Israel Katz has ordered the military to launch a powerful counterstrike targeting the heart of Tehran. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also issued a stern warning to Iran, saying, “Tehran will shake.”
The ceasefire had only recently come into effect. It was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, who declared that the conflict could now be described as a ’12-day war’ that had come to an end. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed Israel’s acceptance of the ceasefire. However, Iranian leadership has remained silent on the agreement, with only state media acknowledging it.
Trump shared the news of the ceasefire on his Truth Post platform and warned that it should not be violated. His announcement followed an earlier missile attack by Iran on U.S. military bases in Qatar. The attack specifically targeted the Al Udeid Air Base, located in the desert near Doha. This base is one of the largest U.S. military installations in the Middle East, housing approximately 10,000 American troops and spanning 24 hectares
