Amid escalating regional tensions, the Indian Embassy in Qatar on June 23 advised the Indian community to stay cautious and remain indoors.

This advisory followed the launch of at least six Iranian missiles targeting the US airbase Al Udeid in Qatar. Earlier, Qatar had temporarily closed its airspace due to safety concerns amid threats of Iranian retaliation against the US and the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
The Indian Embassy in Qatar has urged the Indian community to exercise caution and stay indoors amid the ongoing situation. “Please remain calm and follow local news, instructions, and guidance provided by Qatari authorities,” the Embassy said in a statement.
The Embassy assured that it will keep providing updates via its official social media channels and encouraged the Indian community to rely on verified sources for information.
Iran launched attacks on US bases in Qatar in retaliation for Washington’s weekend strikes on key nuclear sites, officially entering the conflict. US President Donald Trump dismissed Tehran’s response as “very weak.”
Qatar, located just 190 kilometers (120 miles) south of Iran and host to the largest US military base in West Asia, reported that its air defences successfully intercepted a missile attack targeting Al Udeid Air Base.
A US defence official confirmed there were no casualties, while President Trump noted that Tehran had provided advance warning before launching the strikes on the base near Doha.
Following Iran’s official announcement of attacks on US bases, Qatar closed its airspace amid rising regional tensions.
As the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies and the US becomes directly involved, several global airlines have suspended or reduced operations in West Asia. However, Qatar’s aviation authority later confirmed that its airspace had been reopened for commercial flights.
“The General Civil Aviation Authority announces the resumption of air traffic in Qatar’s airspace and a return to normal conditions,” it said in a statement on X.
