Tawang: The bravehearts of the Indian Army celebrate Yoga Day near the LAC in Arunachal Pradesh on 21st June. The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with unparalleled zeal and unity in the picturesque Tawang District, under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” Hosted by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the event brought together local communities, school children, government officials, and soldiers of the Gajraj Corps in a harmonious yoga session set against the majestic Himalayan backdrop, symbolizing the interconnectedness of human well-being and planetary health.

The event was graced by Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, and  Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. The event started with highlighting the scientific foundation of Yoga, emphasizing its transformative benefits in reducing stress, enhancing workplace productivity, and promoting overall well-being. Shri Pema Khandu lauded the dedication of the Indian Army towards integrating Yoga into their rigorous routines, even in the challenging terrains and weather conditions of frontier areas of Arunachal Pradesh. He encouraged the youth to embrace Yoga as a practice for building resilience and fostering unity, reinforcing its role in creating a healthier and more connected world.

The event featured a vibrant Mass Yoga session led by certified instructors, adhering to the protocol outlined by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Participants began with a serene prayer, followed by warming-up exercises and a series of yogasanas, including Kapalbhati, Pranayam, Dhyana, and Meditation. The session embodied the theme for the event, uniting diverse groups in a shared commitment to holistic health and environmental consciousness. Overwhelming participation of local villagers, school children, and soldiers reflected the deep cultural resonance of Yoga and the spirit of camaraderie between the Indian Army and the local community in Tawang.

This celebration not only showcased the universal appeal of Yoga but also highlighted the commitment to promote wellness and sustainability. The serene Himalayan setting served as a powerful reminder of the need to protect our planet while nurturing personal health, embodying the essence of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
