Despite a prior intelligence report warning of the continued activities of the banned Islamic extremist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) in various parts of Kannur district, the Kerala Police failed to act. PFI continues to remain active in the state through its political wing, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). The recent tragic suicide of 40-year-old Raseena, a housewife from Kayalode Parambai, stands as a disturbing testament to their unchecked influence.
According to reports, Raseena took her own life following a brutal religious trial incident conducted by three PFI extremists, Mubashir, Faisal, and Rafnaz, enforcing their interpretation of Sharia law. The group, which subscribes to a radicalised concept of male guardianship common in some Islamic countries, uses this belief to police and control women, including restricting their freedom of movement and association alone in public.
Raseena, a 40-year-old woman from Kerala, died by suicide after being subjected to a Sharia-style moral trial allegedly conducted by Islamist radicals.

Raseena was subjected to this extremist ideology when she was seen speaking to a male friend near a car parked on the roadside. The PFI extremists held both Raseena and her friend hostage and carried out a public trial. Her friend, a resident of Mayyil in Kannur district, was forcibly taken to a nearby ground, physically assaulted, and had his mobile phone and tablet confiscated.
Shattered by the public humiliation, Raseena later died by suicide at her home on Tuesday night. In her suicide note, she expressed fear over her family’s future and named the PFI extremists who had harassed and demeaned her. Following this, the Kerala Police arrested three individuals. However, sources confirm that several other PFI extremists were also involved in the incident.
By banning the PFI, Modi Ji has saved the people of Kerala from terror and violence.

CM Vijayan’s Kannur District Becomes a Heaven for Radical Islamist Groups
The area where this occurred is home to Majeed Parambai, a notorious Islamic terrorist already imprisoned in a terrorism case. He is a close relative of Thadiyanthavida Nazir, a key terrorist in several major terror incidents, including the 2008 Bengaluru serial blasts, the Kashmir terror recruitment case, the attempted assassination of former Kerala Chief Minister E.K. Nayanar, the Kozhikode twin blasts, and the arson attack on a Tamil Nadu government bus in Kalamassery demanding the release of PDP terrorist Abdul Nasser Madani. Nazir is believed to be the South Indian commander of the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Despite the official ban on PFI, their extremist network continues to thrive in Parambai and neighbouring areas such as Muzhappilangad, Edakkad, Narath, Iritty, Mattannur, and Kannur City. After the ban, most PFI extremists reportedly regrouped under SDPI, maintaining their radical operations with little disruption. Local residents compliant that weapons training and secret indoctrination camps are still being conducted, yet police have refrained from carrying out any meaningful raids or interventions.
Allegations are also mounting that SDPI terrorists are operating under the political protection of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It is believing that the Kerala Police, under pressure from the CM Vijayan and ruling CPI(M), is actively covering up the incident, which took place in the Chief Minister’s own constituency.
PFI was banned by Modi govt on 28 Sep 2022 but their vision document had already reached to millions of people
Is it not a strange coincidence that PFI was banned in Sep 2022 and after that Indi Alliance used same strategy to get power that PFI mentioned in their document ? pic.twitter.com/rnClh5VF7i

On the day of the incident, Raseena was talking to her friend near the Achankara mosque, seated next to her car. Following this, she was sent home by the extremists after they informed her family, while her friend was taken to a nearby field and later detained for five hours at the local SDPI terror camp. There, he was interrogated, physically assaulted, and had his electronic devices seized.
Deeply disturbed by the public shaming and threats, Raseena ended her life. Despite the suicide note explicitly naming the perpetrators, police are accused of going soft on key SDPI leaders, many of whom are said to be politically well-connected. Locals have repeatedly raised concerns about the unchecked activities of SDPI militant groups in the region, but their complaints have largely gone ignored.
This incident has reignited concerns about the failure of law enforcement to curb Islamic extremist activities in Kerala and the alleged political shielding of radical elements by the ruling dispensation.
