Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the transformative journey of 11 years of inclusive growth in India, highlighting how this period has empowered millions, uplifted marginalised communities, and propelled the nation toward a prosperous future.

In a social media post on X at the break of dawn, the Prime Minister shared an article authored by Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology, and Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, describing it as an “insightful read” that encapsulates the remarkable progress achieved under the Modi government’s stewardship since 2014.

Union Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw reflects on 11 years of inclusive growth, a journey that has benefited citizens in multiple ways and, more importantly, instilled a belief. A belief that empowers, uplifts, and propels the nation forward.

The article, titled “From dreams to deeds,” published in The Indian Express on June 11, 2025, offers a comprehensive overview of the government’s achievements, blending economic milestones, social welfare initiatives, and infrastructural advancements.

Vaishnaw, a cabinet member, asserts that this decade-long endeavour has transcended traditional subsidies and services, fostering a deep-seated belief among citizens in a brighter tomorrow. A photograph of Vaishnaw accompanies the piece.

Economic and Industrial Surge

The article details India’s economic ascent, noting that the country has climbed from the 11th to the 5th largest economy globally. This growth is underpinned by a robust manufacturing sector, which has witnessed a staggering 15-fold increase, and a thriving electronics industry now exporting goods worth over Rs 12 lakh crore annually. Vaishnaw credits these gains to strategic policies that have attracted investment and boosted industrial output, positioning India as a key player in the global market.

Infrastructure Revolution

A cornerstone of the government’s agenda has been infrastructure development. The capital expenditure has skyrocketed from Rs 2.25 lakh crore in 2015-16 to Rs 11.11 lakh crore in the current fiscal year, funding an array of nationwide projects. Notable accomplishments include the construction of 75 airports, the laying of 37,500 km of highways, and the electrification of over 50,000 km of railway tracks. The revival of iconic symbols like the Vande Bharat trains, including their recent extension through Kashmir bridges, symbolises enhanced connectivity and regional integration, bridging urban and rural divides.

Digital and Social Inclusion

Vaishnaw emphasises the Digital India initiative as a global benchmark, with Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) emerging as a model for international adoption. The program has facilitated over 1 crore DigiLocker accounts, universal Aadhaar enrollment, and an impressive 60 crore UPI transactions daily, marking a digital revolution. On the social front, the government has ensured clean drinking water for 14 million households and constructed 120 million toilets under the Swachh Bharat mission, significantly improving sanitation and public health.

Welfare and Security Measures

The PM-KISAN scheme stands out as a flagship welfare program, providing direct income support to over 350 million people and 110 million farmers. The article also highlights the government’s “zero tolerance” policy toward corruption, exemplified by the waiver of Rs 1,400 crore in electricity bills under the “Har Ghar Jal” scheme, led by the Ayushman Bharat health insurance initiative. On the security front, Vaishnaw praises the surgical strikes and Operation Sindoore, which have bolstered India’s defence capabilities and national resilience against terrorism.

Optimistic Outlook and Public Response

Concluding on an optimistic note, Vaishnaw portrays India as a nation transitioning from dreams to deeds, underpinned by a strong economic foundation, technological innovation, and inclusive policies. Prime Minister Modi’s early morning endorsement on X has ignited widespread discussion, with the post garnering thousands of likes and retweets within hours. Citizens have praised the government’s efforts, with many highlighting the tangible improvements in their lives, while others have called for greater transparency on future policy roadmaps.
