Jamaat & CPI(M) to push BDS movement against India to all states across the country; Kick off from Kerala

Jamaat-e-Islami is planning to expand the global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement, driven by Islamic extremist forces, to India. The initiative was intensified with a protest against the Tata-owned clothing brand Zudio in Kerala’s Kozhikode district. The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, is leading the campaign in the state.

These Islamic groups are also receiving political backing from the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In an unfortunate move, the CPI(M) Central Committee, which met today, urged the central government to stop supplying arms to Israel. Party General Secretary MA Baby demanded that India must end all ties with Israel, including military cooperation. The CPI(M) also expressed support again for Palestinian terrorism.

On Eid, the SIO staged a protest march to Tata’s Zudio outlet, calling for a boycott of the brand. The organisation urged Muslims to shun Tata’s products, alleging that the company supports Israel. The SIO is also running a campaign on social media, asking Muslims to avoid brands like Zara, Zudio, and Westside while shopping for festive occasions such as Eid. The protest march in Kozhikode featured flags associated with Palestinian terrorism. Jamaat-e-Islami now aims to extend the campaign across multiple states, turning it into a nationwide movement. The larger goal behind this drive is to inflict economic damage on India through targeted boycotts.

The extremists try to expand the scope of economic jihad to other brands, they can cause significant financial harm to the country. A systematic effort has been launched to strengthen the BDS campaign in India, backed by international networks linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, Turkey, and Qatar. Kerala, long viewed as a testing ground for Jamaat’s operations, has become the starting point of this movement.

Globally, the BDS campaign has been used by Islamic forces against Israel, under the pretext of supporting Palestine. Originating from the Muslim Brotherhood, Jamaat-e-Islami, and other extremist organisations, the movement calls for a boycott of Israeli products, withdrawal of investments, and imposition of sanctions, both economic and political. This united front is now being replicated against India. Since 2021, networks involving the Muslim Brotherhood, Qatar, Turkey, and Pakistan have been working to expand the BDS movement into India, using Bosnia as an initial focal point.

In Kerala, the Communist Party has consistently expressed solidarity with Palestinian terrorists, aiming to secure votes from specific communities. The party is accused of enabling anti-national activities by aligning with Islamic propaganda networks and spreading misinformation. At the Central Committee meeting today, the CPI(M) also criticised India’s stance on Pakistan. General Secretary MA Baby stated that the central government’s position, that any terrorist act would be viewed as an act of war by Pakistan, is incorrect. The CPI(M), however, continues to misrepresent India’s official policy. The party’s growing proximity to Jamaat-e-Islami over the Palestine issue is seen as an electoral strategy to consolidate votes from radical elements. In pursuit of this, Kerala’s ruling party is accused of openly supporting the anti-national activities spearheaded by Jamaat. This is an emerging threat not only for Kerala but for India as a whole.
