Madhubani: Security personnel apprehended two Chinease nationals from Bharat-Nepal border in Madhubani after they were caught taking photographs and videos of Bhartiya territory.

They were apprehended by personnel of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) who grew suspicious of their activities near Pipraun check post along the Indo-Nepal border on May 28 evening.

Upon spotting the duo taking photographs and videos, the security personnel intervened and asked them to stop, though the duo failed to understand the instructions. According to the information received, both of them were caught while attempting to cross into the Bharatiya territory without valid travel related documents.

The arrested individuals were identified as Sheng Jun Yung and Wu-Hai long, both residents of Xiuning of Anhui province.

The authorities have seized three mobile phones from the arrested Chinese nationals. Report suggests that one of the individual caught by the authorities has Khalistan related anti-Bhartiya videos on his phone.

“Three individuals who have crossed the border and entered Bhartiya territory were caught by the police with the help of SSB under the jurisdiction of Harlaki police station limits. Two of them were identified as Chinese nationals while the other one is a Nepali citizen,” said Yogendra Kumar SP Madhubani.

“All of them are being interrogated by police and other agencies. Their mobile phones contain videos of the nearby localities, their travel related documents are also being verified and legal action will be taken against them accordingly,” he added.

He further said that the arrested individuals were taken into custody as they were found to have illegally entered the Bhartiya territory.

“Our border with Nepal is sensitive and strict vigil is maintained in light of the recent incident. The police and SSB are on an alert mode,” he noted.

Earlier a team of SSB on May 7 had arrested four Chinese nationals while they were trying to sneak into Bharatiya territory illegally near Bharat-Nepal border at Raxaul of East Champaran district. They were arrested by the personnel of 47th battalion of SSB stationed near the border.

An alert was sounded at Indo-Nepal border following Bharat carried out precision strikes at 9 locations associated with terror groups in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) under “Operation Sindoor” on May 7.

The strikes were carried out almost a fortnight after Pakistan backed terrorists killed 26 people in a barbaric attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir.
