Guwahati: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi visited Pakistan on their notorious spy agency ISI’s invitation. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has levelled this serious allegation against the deputy LoP of the Congress party in Parliament. On the sidelines of a program in Guwahati CM Sarma said, MP Gaurav Gogoi went to Pakistan on ISI’s invitation. He visited the enemy country after receiving a formal invitation from its interior ministry. He further said, we have enough proof that after receiving an invitation from the interior ministry of Pakistan MP Gaurav Gogoi visited the country.

He went to Pakistan to receive training from ISI as he was not invited by the foreign or cultural ministry or any university, he added. CM Sarma further alleged that MP Gogoi visited the enemy country on direct invitation from the Pakistan government. This is not an issue of political attack on each other. I have been saying this as a chief minister of a state and it is a serious matter of national security.

He further added that on September 10 the SIT report will be submitted in Assam assembly and will be forwarded to the central government for further action and investigation. We have enough evidence on it and there will be big action on it once the investigation is completed. CM Sarma further stated that MP Gogoi was closely working with the Pakistan establishment and it is a serious matter. The evidence is  complete in the investigation but to complete the legal procedure the SIT needs three months of time.

It should be mentioned that CM Sarma opposed the list given by Congress party for the delegation to visit foreign countries to clear India’s stance on terrorism and Pakistan. The Congress list includes MP Gaurav Gogoi’s name. But finally, the government of India didn’t include MP Gaurav Gogoi’s name in the delegation looking at the manner of the serious allegation against him. Gaurav Gogoi and his British wife Elizabeth Cilburn are in controversy for their alleged link with Pakistani establishment and secret visits to the enemy country. Assam police SIT is currently investigating the matter including their visits and the receipt of salary from Pakistan by Gigoi’s wife.
