Kerala: Non-bailable case slapped on Akhil Marar for fueling anti-India agenda on Pahalgam terror attack

Kollam Police have, on May 14, registered a non-bailable case against Akhil Marar, a Malayalam film director and social media influencer. He has been charged for making anti-national comments. The case has been registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the BJP Kottarakkara Mandalam Committee, under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS).

The FIR states that Akhil Marar made anti-social comments on social media with a deliberate aim of hurting the sovereignty, unity, and national integration. Marar had raised the Pahalgam issue on social media in recent days. He alleged that not a single terrorist involved in the Pahalgam killings has been nabbed. Another notorious allegation was regarding the Balochistan issue. He claimed that Bharat supplied arms to Balochistan and created a war-like situation in Pakistan.

Akhil Marar kept alleging that Bharat killed ordinary people in Pakistan. He added that Bharat’s rulers and forces lack self-respect and have thus become slaves of a ‘strong nation’.

Akhil Marar has eulogised Indira Gandhi in relation to the Bangladesh Liberation. He indirectly alleges that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has surrendered before the American President.

It has become a passion among Malayalam film and serial artists to belittle their own country’s image and provide ammunition to our enemies to condemn our motherland.

Organiser weekly had unleashed an onslaught against the Empuram movie, superstars Mohanlal and Prithviraj, and producer Gokulam Gopalan for including scenes and dialogues detrimental to the country’s interests. In the end, the ‘leaders’ of the film had to make 24 cuts, mute certain dialogues, and change the name of the villain.
