In a bold and uncompromising counter-offensive against Pakistan’s escalating provocations along the western border and Line of Control (LoC), the Indian Armed Forces on Saturday (May 10) launched a series of precise and punishing strikes on key Pakistani military infrastructure — including technical facilities, command and control hubs, radar sites, and major ammunition depots — delivering a clear message: India will not tolerate threats to its sovereignty.
Addressing a joint press conference by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence on Operation Sindoor, on May10, Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated that precision strikes were carried out on Pakistani military targets in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, as well as radar sites at Pasrur and Sialkot aviation bases, using air-launched weapons from Indian fighter aircraft.

She further noted that the precision targeting was done to minimise any collateral damage, reiterating India’s commitment to not wanting to escalate the situation.
“In response to Pakistan targeting civilian targets, the Indian Armed Forces retaliated and targeted technical installations, command and control centres, radar sites and ammunition strongholds… Pakistan military targets in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, rahim yar khan, Sukkur and Chunian were engaged by air-launched precision weapons from our fighter aircraft… Radar sites at Pasrur and Sialkot aviation bases were also targeted using precision weapons. While carrying out these attacks, India has ensured minimal collateral damage,” she said.
Colonel Qureshi further described the scope of Pakistan’s aggressiveness, which includes targeting India’s military installations with fighter jets, long-range weaponry, loitering ammunition, and Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs).
“Pakistan has continued its aggressive attack on the western border. At the LoC, they used drones and heavy-calibre weapons to attack. From Srinagar to Naliya, in more than 26 locations, airspace infiltration was attempted,” she stated.
Indian forces effectively fought and retaliated despite the strikes’ severity, although people were hurt and airbases in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda were damaged.
Particularly condemned were Pakistan’s unprofessional bombing of hospitals and schools in airbases in Srinagar, Awantipora, and Udhampur, as well as its employment of high-speed missiles to target Punjab’s airfield station at 1:40 AM.
“Pakistan has continued its aggressive attack on the western border… They used UCAP drones, long-range weapons, loitering ammunition and fighter Jets to target India’s military structures… At LoC they used drones and heavy-calibre weapons to attack… At the IB and LoC from Srinagar to Naliya, in more than 26 locations airspace infiltration was attempted,” she said.
“Pakistan has also attempted to propagate falsehoods, including claims of destroying India’s S-400 system and targeting airfields in Surat and Sirsa. India unequivocally rejects these fabricated claims,” stated Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.

“Pakistan Army has been observed to be moving its troops towards forward areas, indicating an offensive intent to further escalation. Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness, and all hostile actions have been effectively countered and responded proportionately. Indian armed forces reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided the Pakistan side reciprocates,” Singh said.
Residents of Barmer, Rajasthan, also retrieved fragments and debris of unknown projectiles on Saturday.
“Pakistan launched Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones in Amritsar, Punjab endangering the residential areas of Punjab. The attempt was thwarted by Army Air Defence guns at 5 AM today, destroying the same in the air. The drone was aimed to target civilian areas and innocent civilians,” officials said in their statement.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reaffirmed India’s stance, stating: “I have said on numerous previous occasions that it is Pakistan’s actions which have constituted provocations and escalations. In response, India has defended itself and reacted in a responsible and measured manner to these provocations and escalations by the Pakistani side. Earlier this morning, we witnessed yet another instance of this escalating and provocative behaviour.”

According to defence sources, Pakistan made a brazen attempt to target India’s air defence infrastructure using Turkish-manufactured installations. In a serious violation of international norms, Pakistan allegedly used civilians as human shields, including positioning an Airbus A320 as cover during hostile manoeuvres. There was also an attempt to strike India’s Bathinda launch pad, which was thwarted.
Simultaneously, India also hit terror launch pads and military posts located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s Neelam Valley and Sialkot sector, which were being used to deploy tube-launched drones targeting Indian positions in Jammu.
The precision strikes on Pakistani military targets were part of Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
A comprehensive battle damage assessment and operational review is expected to be presented following a scheduled briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs later today.
