New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tension between Bharat and Pakistan after the terror attack in Pahalgam to which Bharat forces are replying strongly with the ongoing “Operation Sindoor”, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on May 8 calls for dialogues and discussion.

In an official statement issued on May 8, the AIMPLB while expressing its concern over the increasing tension on the India-Pakistan border said that it supports every necessary step taken for the defence and protection of the nation and its people and emphasises that in these critical times, the public, political parties armed forces and the government must come together to face these threats.

The Board however further noted that it is of the view that Bharat and Pakistan cannot afford a war, especially in the presence of nuclear weapons.

“Terrorism and the killings of innocent civilians is a grave concern. There is absolutely no place for terrorism in Islamic teaching, globally recognised principles and human values. Therefore countries should resolve their matters through bilateral dialogues and discussion. It is also a fact that war is not a solution to any issue – especially in the presence of nuclear weapons, India and Pakistan cannot afford a war,” reads the resolution passed by the board on Thursday.

In a special online meeting of the office bearers of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, the following resolution was passed:

It further added that “Such a conflict could plunge the people of both nations into insurmountable difficulties and suffering. Hence all issues should be resolved through dialogues and other diplomatic means.”

AIMPLB to continue with ‘Anti-Waqf Campaign’

The statement further said that “the board will continue its Save Waqf Campaign as ususal.”

“The Muslim Personal Law Board will continue its Save Waqf Camapign as usual. However, in light of the current situation, its public meetings and events are being postponed for the next one week (Unitl May 16),” reads the release.

It further noted that Indoor programs, meetings, dialogues, sermons in mosques, submission of memorandums related to the said campaign however will continue as scheduled.

The statement issued by the board has arrived at a time when tension has escalated between Bharat and Pakistan following the barbaric Pahalgam attack.

Bharat on May 7 launched “Operation Sindoor” targeting 9 terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Pakistan on the other hand fired several missiles and drones, targeting several locations in Jammu, Punjab and others on late Thursday evening. Bharat’s air defence system however successfully intercepted rockets, missiles and drone strikes, preventing any significant damage inside the Bhartiya territory.
