Time to root out Jihadi violence: VHP’s Milind Parande after paying tribute to Bajrang Dal’s Suhas Shetty

VHP Secretary General Milind Parande paid tribute to Bajrang Dal Karyakarta Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru, vowing to uproot Jihadi violence and strengthen the Hindu resistance. Shetty’s sacrifice, Parande said, must inspire the Hindu society to stand united in defence of Dharma

Vishva Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) Secretary General (Organisation) Shri Milind Parande on May 2, paid an emotional tribute to Bajrang Dal karyakarta Suhas Shetty, who was brutally killed in Mangaluru, Karnataka. Visiting the martyr’s home along with hundreds of VHP and Bajrang Dal volunteers, Parande declared that the time has come for the Hindu society to dig the grave of Jihadi violence.

He described Suhas Shetty as a brave gau rakshak and committed soldier of the Hindu cause, whose life was devoted to protecting Dharma and resisting anti-Hindu forces. “We have lost a proud son of Bharat,” Parande said, “but his sacrifice has strengthened the resolve of every Karyakarta to protect Hindutva till our last breath.”

Suhas Shetty was reportedly targeted and killed in an act of Jihadi terror. His work as a Bajrang Dal activist involved cow protection, awareness drives, and mobilising youth for social causes rooted in Sanatan Dharma. According to VHP, Shetty had received threats from radical elements opposed to his activism.

Parande did not mince words in connecting the dots between rising targeted violence against Hindus and what he called a systematic Jihadi assault on Bharat’s cultural fabric. “We will not remain silent spectators. This is not just an attack on one youth—it is an attack on every Sanatani, on our sacred values, on Bharat itself. The time has come to eradicate Jihadi violence from its roots,” Parande asserted.

The VHP Secretary General was accompanied by a sea of volunteers, many of whom were visibly moved by the tragic loss. “Suhas was like a brother to us. His memory will now be our strength,” said one Bajrang Dal volunteer at the site. Candles were lit, prayers were chanted, and slogans of “Jai Shree Ram” echoed through the streets as locals joined in the homage.

VHP’s National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal reiterated that the organisation would stand firmly with Suhas Shetty’s family and ensure justice is delivered. He condemned the growing appeasement of radical elements and called for a nationwide movement to protect young Hindu activists.

“The Hindu society should not only pay tribute but take a pledge—to support such religious warriors, to prepare for sacrifice, and if needed, to give sacrifice. Only then will the soul of Suhas Shetty find true peace,” he said.

The VHP has confirmed that it will be launching a series of awareness and resistance campaigns in Karnataka and other states to expose the threat of radicalised violence. Memorial meetings, yagnas, and peace marches are expected to be organised in Shetty’s honour.
