Suhas Shetty who was murdered by the Islamists. BJP demands NIA probe

Mangaluru:  Opposition leader R Ashok has launched a strong attack, stating that stringent measures should have been taken when Neha was murdered in Hubballi and during the Love Jihad incidents. He blamed the inaction for the ongoing series of murders.

Speaking to the media in the city about the Suhas Shetty murder case, he expressed shock over the incident in Mangaluru, stating, “Entire Mangaluru is shaken by Suhas Shetty’s murder. A bandh has been called today. Such incidents have happened even when Congress was in power. During Siddaramaiah’s first term, 56 Hindu activists were murdered. When Congress is in power, Pakistan Zindabad slogans and flags increase. Pakistan Zindabad is the reason behind Suhas’s murder. Law and order in the state have completely broken down,” he criticized.

He further pointed out that no action has been taken against those shouting slogans like Pakistan Zindabad. “There should be strict laws to shoot down traitors. Suhas’s murder has caused immense pain to Hindu activists. How many more Hindus must be murdered? Who incited the killers of Suhas Shetty? An investigation is needed to find out if the police department was involved in any way. After Siddaramaiah’s government came to power, law and order have deteriorated further,” he lamented.

Ashok clarified that there was no weapon at Suhas Shetty’s car for self defence , implying the attack was premeditated based on information given to the killers. “When Nahaa was murdered and Love Jihad incidents occurred, strict action was needed. The failure to act led to such murders. I, along with Vijayendra, am heading to Mangaluru and will participate in protests. Since Siddaramaiah became CM, his words and actions have changed.

Reacting to Dayanand Gundu Rao’s statement that BJP should not incite violence, he responded, “Even if Pakistan insults us or shouts slogans for Pakistan, it doesn’t matter. They are just fools. The entire police department has become like the Congress party. These incidents are happening because of police misconduct; police stations have become Congress offices,” he said.

C T Ravi accused anti national elements behind murder

MLA CT Ravi has accused internal anti-national elements for the recent murder of a man who reportedly cheered for Pakistan. He stated that the victim was attacked in retaliation for shouting “Jindabad” (Long live) for Pakistan during a cricket match.

Addressing reporters in Chikkamagaluru, Ravi condemned the incident and also responded to the recent killing of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru. He emphasized that while the army handles external enemies, internal threats must also be rooted out with strict political will, and their roots should be pulled out completely.

Today, I paid my final respects to Suhas Shetty, a dedicated Hindu karyakartha, who was tragically and brutally murdered in Mangalore. Ravi further criticised organisations like SDPI, alleging they promote fanaticism and are involved in treacherous activities. He warned that such extremist elements are country traitors, and both forgiving and tolerating them is not an option. He expressed concern that these individuals come into the corridors of power, shouting slogans like “Pakistan Jindabad,” and if not controlled, India’s sovereignty could be compromised.

“Chief Minister , you have taken back cases against SDPI and PFI. Do you realize you’re empowering these traitors? If you don’t act decisively, the country’s integrity will be at risk. The internal threats are as dangerous as external enemies, and they must be dealt with firmly,” he cautioned.

Mother broke down

Suhas Shetty’s mother, Sulochana Shetty, tearfully expressed her grief and anguish over her son’s tragic death, stating, “He was willing to give his life for Hinduism. Now, they have taken his life away.”

Speaking to the media, Sulochana revealed that they were busy with a wedding early yesterday morning, so she couldn’t call her son. When she tried to contact him in the evening, his phone was unreachable. She lamented, “He was ready to sacrifice his life for Hinduism. Now, they have taken his life.”

She further emphasized the alarming situation for Hindus in the region, saying, “Hindus are living in fear. Despite being 85% of the population, we are forced to live in terror.” She demanded strict action against the perpetrators of the crime, urging authorities to ensure justice is served.

BJP announced Rs 25 lakh compensation

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President B.V. Vijayendra has announced a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh to the family of Suhas Shetty, who was brutally murdered by anti-national elements.

Speaking after performing the final rites of Suhas Shetty, Vijayendra condemned the incident, stating, “It is reprehensible that such an event occurred in Mangaluru shortly after the Kashmir Pulwama killings. BJP takes this matter very seriously. The failure of the police department is evident. Not providing protection and safety to lives is a failure of the police.”

He further criticized the Congress government, saying, “There is no protection for Hindu activists under the Congress government. We are standing with Suhas Shetty’s family, offering them strength and support during this difficult time. BJP leaders and workers are with the family. Their pillar of support has collapsed.”

Vijayendra emphasized the need for justice, demanding that the government provide compensation and that a national investigation agency (NIA) investigate the case. “We urge the Chief Minister and Home Minister to recognize the gravity of this incident and take appropriate action. The government must provide compensation and ensure a thorough investigation,” he asserted.

MP Chowta wrote to Shah

Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta has written a stern letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging the central government to immediately transfer the investigation of the brutal murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty in Bajpe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). In his letter, Chowta expressed deep concern and anguish over the heinous killing, describing it as a stark reflection of the rising lawlessness, Islamic fundamentalism, and anti-national elements in coastal Karnataka. He stated, “The murder of Suhas Shetty has shocked not only the coastal region but also the entire state of Karnataka. Such incidents threaten the very fabric of communal harmony and security.”

Chowta drew parallels with the earlier murder of BJP activist Praveen Nettaru in Sullia, which was carried out by members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). Despite the organization being outlawed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, similar violent acts continue, indicating that extremist sleeper cells like PFI remain active in the region. “It is extremely painful to see another young Hindu losing his life. This incident clearly shows that organizations like PFI are still lurking and operating,” he emphasized.

The MP highlighted that Suhas Shetty’s family is devastated and anxiously awaiting justice. As a representative and someone who has observed the pain firsthand, Chowta demanded that the investigation be handed over to the NIA for a comprehensive and impartial probe, especially given the suspicion of PFI’s involvement.
