Patna: Days after the ghastly terror attack at Pahalgam, Bihar government has started preparations to send back the Pakistani nationals residing in the state.

According to reports, as many as 27 Pakistani nationals currently residing in the capital Patna have been asked by the district administration to leave the country.

Most of these Pakistani nationals are reported to be women who had arrived in Bharat either to attend functions or for medical treatment.  They had reportedly arrived at their relatives’ places on short-term visas, though they later extended it.

“At present, 24 Pakistani nationals are residing in Patna on a long-term visa along with three others who have surrendered their passport to get Indian citizenship,” informed one of the senior officials of the police.

“We are waiting for further directions related to Pakistani citizens. We will get directions within 24 hours. Meanwhile the concerned police officials have been asked to keep a vigil on the Pakistani citizens,” he added.

This comes after the Union Government on April 23 announced to suspend the visas of all the Pakistani nationals residing in Bharat, instructing them to leave the country within two days.

The announcement was part of a series of steps announced by the Union Government to send a stern warning to Pakistan following the shameful targeting of Hindu tourists on religious lines by Pakistan backed terrorists at Pahalgam on April 22.

Hailing the Union Government’s decision, deputy Chief Minister of the state Samrat Choudhary on April 26 said “The kind of attack carried out in Kashmir clearly indicates about the ill-motives of Pakistan. The Union Government has clearly instructed the Pakistani citizens to leave the country and those who will not leave by their own will be deported soon.”

“All the Pakistani nationals residing in the country have no other option but to leave. The state government and the district administrations have already started working on it. The process of identifying the Pakistani nationals staying in the state has already been started; they have been identified as well, we have also received list from the foreign department and swift action will be taken,” added the deputy CM.
