The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has issued a scathing condemnation of the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where Hindu pilgrims were reportedly singled out, identified through religious profiling, and executed in cold blood. Terming the massacre a “Jihadi war declaration by Pakistan,” the VHP called for decisive and immediate retaliation from the Government of Bharat.
Dr Surendra Jain, Central Joint General Secretary of the VHP, minced no words while addressing the press. “This barbaric incident is not just a terrorist attack—it is an open war waged by Islamic Jihadi forces backed by Pakistan. It’s a horrifying reminder of the terror that gripped the valley in the 1990s. We must root out the religious terrorism that dares to raise its head once more in Kashmir,” he said.
The attack in Pahalgam has shocked the nation, with eyewitness reports stating that the perpetrators removed the pants of travellers, demanded they recite the Kalma, and checked their IDs before executing those confirmed to be non-Muslims. Dr Jain said this methodical targeting proves beyond doubt that the attack was religiously motivated.
“This was a pre-planned, targeted killing carried out by Pakistan-backed jihadis and their local sleeper cells. Their agenda is clear—to drive Hindus out of the valley, to recreate the horror of the 1990s,” he added.
The VHP leader linked the attack to a disturbing ecosystem that includes political rhetoric and Pakistani military statements. He cited a recent remark by a Bharatiya MP who termed tourism and land purchases in Kashmir as ‘cultural encroachment,’ and connected it to Pakistan Army Chief’s statement claiming “Kashmir is the only remaining agenda.” Dr. Jain alleged this ideological backing paved the way for the bloodshed in Pahalgam.
“This ecosystem—from the corridors of power to Pakistan’s military headquarters—is enabling these acts. It’s time to crush it without hesitation,” he said.
Dr Surendra Jain questioned the silence of Indian Muslim leaders on the massacre. “They create national unrest over Waqf property fears, but they can’t step out to condemn the murder of innocent Hindu pilgrims? This selective outrage is unacceptable.”
He emphasised that if the government fails to act swiftly and strongly, public outrage could spiral. “The people of Bharat are furious. If strong action is not taken now, this anger will intensify. It’s time for the government to show zero tolerance.”
In response, the VHP and Bajrang Dal have announced a nationwide protest on April 25, demanding justice for the victims, complete dismantling of the terror network in Kashmir, and a firm response to Pakistan’s provocations. “This is the moment for Bharat to show the world that we will never again tolerate religious cleansing on our soil,” Dr. Jain concluded.
